What did Rylee Arnold say about Robert Irwin?
In an Entertainment Tonight interview reported by PerthNow on May 20, 2024, Arnold said: “Robert Irwin, he is the cutest… imagine, because his sister Bindi was on the show and I remember watching his sister on the show when I was eight years old, and I was like ‘Robert’s like my age.’ I was like ‘Please he has to be on the show at least one day for me,” she giggled.

It was a playful expression of admiration and a hope for a future dance partnership—not a claim that the two were dating. Arnold also expressed the wish in a separate 2024 Her Campus interview: “I’ve always wanted to be partners with Robert Irwin. I’m just obsessed with him. If there’s ever a time where he’s on the show, I hope he’s my partner.”
How did Robert Irwin respond?
PerthNow reported that Irwin was enthusiastic about Arnold’s idea. His response was: “Hey, I’m in. I’m on board, Rylee, 100 per cent. That would be a huge honour. I love that.” The report also described an exchange involving his sister, Bindi Irwin, but the central point was that he welcomed the possibility.

Did they become DWTS partners?
No. The wish did not become the Season 34 pairing. In its official cast announcement on September 3, 2025, ABC paired Robert Irwin with Witney Carson and Rylee Arnold with Scott Hoying.

ABC later identified Irwin as the Season 34 Mirrorball champion. In an April 27, 2026 announcement, the network also named him host of the spin-off Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro. Those are later developments; they do not change the meaning of Arnold’s original 2024 remark.
