Run Forrest Run is a mobile endless runner tied to Forrest Gump. It centers on familiar runner actions—running, jumping, sliding and dodging obstacles—but its name depends on the app store: the App Store listing is Run Forrest Run – El Juego, while Google Play currently calls it Runner odyssey:running journey. Check the listing in your own region and for your device before trying to install it.
What is Run Forrest Run?
Run Forrest Run is a mobile game built around an endless-running format and the cross-country run associated with Forrest Gump. Store descriptions present it as a game of avoiding obstacles, using power-ups and progressing through changing environments. Google Play categorizes it as an action, platformer, runner and arcade game, and labels it single-player and offline. These are the storefronts’ descriptions, not an independent assessment of how it performs in play.

The available records establish a mobile app, not a console or PC release. The storefront copy connects the game to the film, but the available sources do not independently verify licensing arrangements.
Why do the App Store and Google Play show different names?
The storefronts do not use the same title. The Spanish-region App Store page lists Run Forrest Run – El Juego and identifies VIVA GAMES S.L. as the developer. Google Play lists Runner odyssey:running journey, also associated with Viva Games Studios. Its update note refers to Forrest Gump and closes with “Have fun playing Run Forrest Run!” The name mismatch means searching the exact phrase may not produce the same result on both platforms.

Availability and compatibility can vary by country, device and store. The App Store page’s Spanish regional path and its version history should not be taken as proof that the app is currently available everywhere. Google Play’s page reports 10M+ downloads; that storefront figure was displayed when accessed October 8, 2026, and the listing gives October 8, 2025 as its update date. It is time-sensitive, not a guarantee of present availability.
How does the game work?
The store descriptions outline a familiar endless-runner loop: keep moving, avoid hazards and use power-ups. The listed actions include running, jumping, sliding and dodging obstacles. Google Play also describes dynamic environments, leaderboards and character customization. The descriptions do not provide enough detail to establish that every feature is present in the App Store version or identical across regions.
Is Run Forrest Run free?
The storefronts describe free access while disclosing monetization. Google Play says the app contains ads and in-app purchases; the App Store page says it is free with in-app purchases. Store listings do not establish what any particular purchase costs or whether those details remain unchanged, so check the current listing before downloading or buying.
When did the game come out?
DeVuego’s Spanish Game Industry DataBase records an iOS release on June 20, 2014 and an Android release on August 21, 2014, under the name Run Forrest Run and the developer Genera Games. Those are historical database dates, not evidence that the original listing remains available today. The current store records associate the app with VIVA GAMES S.L. / Viva Games Studios. The App Store version history includes version 3.0.6 dated December 20, 2023.

How is the game connected to the film?
The game takes its premise from Forrest’s famous run across the United States in the 1994 film Forrest Gump. The connection is a theme and setting; watching the movie is not a stated requirement for playing. Anyone who wants the film context can check Paramount’s official Forrest Gump page, which lists 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD. Amazon’s Prime Video page also lists DVD and Blu-ray formats; availability can vary by location.
