RÜFÜS DU SOL opened the Australian leg of the Inhale / Exhale tour at Perth’s RAC Arena with a roughly two-hour set that moved between familiar songs and newer material. PerthNow reviewer Kellie Balaam gave the performance four out of five stars, praising its dancing, festival-like atmosphere while noting that some white lighting was uncomfortably harsh.

How the Perth show unfolded

The trio—Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George and James Hunt—took the stage just before 9pm, according to Balaam’s review. They began with “Lately,” a 2024 single, then moved through older tracks such as “Sundream” and “Desert Night” alongside songs from the group’s latest album, Inhale / Exhale. Ticketmaster Australia identifies it as the group’s fifth studio album and presents it in connection with the tour.

Balaam described the arena as having a festival atmosphere, with thousands of fans dancing. The review singled out “You Were Right,” “On My Knees” and “Underwater” as crowd peaks. It did not give an official attendance figure, so “thousands” should be understood as the reviewer’s qualitative description rather than a count.

The review says “Innerbloom” began the apparent finale, leading the crowd to think the performance had ended. After a few minutes, the trio returned for an encore of “Break My Love,” “No Place” and “Music is Better.”

Setlist.fm’s community-maintained entry for the RAC Arena date lists 26 items and records the encore’s last entry as “Music is Better / Be With You.” That differs from Balaam’s account, which names “Music is Better” as the final song. The database is a useful cross-check, but the difference is best left visible rather than treating either wording as definitive.

Lasers, confetti and a lighting caveat

The production used blue and green lasers, lights synchronized to the beats, and white confetti released twice. Live camera footage was projected onto screens above the stage, giving the arena audience a closer view of the performers. Balaam also noted that harsh white lights almost blinded some people; that is the reviewer’s observation, not a claim that every attendee had the same experience.

What the review says about the tour opener

The show’s shape—an opening with “Lately,” a mix of older and newer songs, and an “Innerbloom”-led apparent ending before the encore—gave the Perth performance both a broad career-spanning feel and a clear connection to the new album. Balaam’s four-out-of-five-star rating reflects an enthusiastic review with a specific reservation about the lighting.

There is a small date discrepancy in the available accounts: PerthNow published Balaam’s review on 8 November 2025 and describes the concert as Friday night, which corresponds to 7 November; the setlist entry labels the RAC Arena performance 8 November. The review is the source for the described audience experience, while the community-edited database provides a separate setlist record.
