RÜFÜS DU SOL opened its Australian Inhale/Exhale tour at Perth’s RAC Arena on Friday night, pairing new-album tracks with crowd favorites in a performance Rolling Stone AU/NZ reviewer Caitlin Norris described as “holy” in its most affecting moment: “Innerbloom.”
What happened at the Perth opener
In a live review published November 8, 2025, Norris reported that the trio—Tyrone Lindqvist, James Hunt and Joe George—began the Australian leg of its Inhale/Exhale tour at RAC Arena. England’s SG Lewis warmed up the show, and RAHH made a guest appearance. The account is a review of that opening performance, not a full itinerary or definitive set list.
The set drew from deep cuts, the new album and familiar favorites. Norris singled out “You Were Right,” “On My Knees” and “Innerbloom.” The band closed with “Music is Better,” which the review calls a highlight from the new record.
How the performance built its atmosphere
Continuous transitions and live instrumentation
Norris describes songs flowing into one another over dense bass, with Hunt’s percussion contributing to the set’s momentum. The review also notes the trio’s coordinated performance, framing the show as a continuous musical arc rather than a sequence of isolated tracks.

Lighting and crowd moments
Green beams cut through the arena during “In the Moment,” while confetti fell during “Surrender.” Norris describes “Innerbloom” as a particularly powerful moment, using the language of euphoria, surrender and the sacred to convey her critical impression—not a measurable claim about every attendee’s reaction.
Why “Underwater” felt personal
Before “Underwater,” Lindqvist addressed the Perth crowd: “this is very special and we’ve been looking forward to this show. Looking forward to coming home.” The comment gave the opening night a personal note, tying the tour launch to the band’s return to Australia.

As “New York” began, Lindqvist said, “it’s a trip to play in front of this many people.” Later, he thanked fans for helping the band endure, saying “a lot of our favourite bands don’t last that long”.
A show designed to reach longtime listeners and newcomers
Norris’s assessment is that the performance could turn a newcomer into a fan quickly, while the familiar songs gave existing listeners moments of recognition. The review’s strongest example is “Innerbloom,” whose live rendition supplies the “holy” framing in the headline.

- It does not provide a complete set list, attendance count, ticket details or the Australian tour’s full route.
- It names RAHH as a guest appearance but does not expand the name or give further details.
- The description of thousands in attendance is not a precise count.
These details should not be inferred from the Perth review alone. Its focus is the opening-night performance and the atmosphere Norris experienced there.
