Royal Pains had a brief streaming resurgence after Netflix added all eight seasons to its U.S. catalog in January 2024: Nielsen placed it at No. 7 among U.S. streaming titles for one week. That is a meaningful chart appearance, but the evidence falls short of Suits’ much longer, larger resurgence. And as of October 3, 2026, a U.S. availability check showed purchase options and DVD—not a subscription-streaming listing.
How far did Royal Pains rise after its Netflix return?
Netflix added all eight seasons of Royal Pains to its U.S. catalog on January 22, 2024, according to What’s on Netflix. The historical report said the license was expected to expire after December 31, 2024; that forecast does not establish when the show actually left the service.

After the addition, Royal Pains reached No. 7 on Nielsen’s overall U.S. streaming chart for the week of February 5, 2024, with 707 million minutes viewed, as reported by TVLine. That is a single-week result, not evidence of an extended run near the top of the chart.
The sources also disagree about the size of the measured library: the January return report says 104 episodes, while TVLine’s account of Nielsen’s chart result describes 108. Because the totals conflict, it is better not to rely on an episode count when interpreting the ranking.

How does that compare with Suits?
Suits is the stronger benchmark for a Netflix revival. In a November 2025 retrospective, Netflix Tudum said the series spent a month in Netflix’s weekly Top 10 and was the most-streamed show of 2023. Netflix’s Q3 2023 shareholder letter reported 614 million U.S. view hours over 12 weeks, in a run that began in late June 2023, and 1 billion global Netflix view hours for June 19 through September 10, 2023.

| What the numbers establish | A notable one-week chart appearance after the Netflix U.S. addition. | A longer chart run and large viewing totals across the periods Netflix reported. |
These figures are not a direct head-to-head measurement. The Royal Pains number is minutes for one Nielsen chart week; the Suits figures cover different time windows and include view hours reported by Netflix. They support the conclusion that Suits had the more substantial documented resurgence, not a precise ratio of audience size.
The shows also have different premises and audience profiles. Royal Pains is a USA Network comedy-drama that ran from 2009 to 2016. It follows New York emergency-room doctor Hank Lawson, who relocates to the Hamptons, treats wealthy clients and also cares for local residents. Suits ran from 2011 to 2019. TVLine’s account of Nielsen’s findings described Royal Pains’ audience as somewhat more female than Suits’ and otherwise fairly similar; that comparison describes audience composition, not why viewers watched either series.
Where can you watch Royal Pains in the U.S. now?
In a U.S. catalog check dated October 3, 2026, JustWatch listed digital purchase options from Amazon Video, Apple TV Store and Fandango at Home, along with DVD availability through Amazon DVD/Blu-ray. It did not show a subscription-streaming listing. Streaming catalogs and store listings can change, so confirm availability in your region before buying or subscribing.

Netflix’s Q3 2023 shareholder letter says, “Licensing has always been an important part of our programming strategy.” The letter’s discussion of licensed titles provides context for why a library series can find new viewers on a service. It does not promise that Netflix will keep a particular title or that every licensed show will repeat Suits’ success.

Royal Pains proved it could attract substantial attention in the week measured after its Netflix return. But one chart week is not the sustained run documented for Suits, and the available numbers are too different to make a clean numerical comparison. Its present-day U.S. viewing options, in the dated listing, are purchase and DVD rather than subscription streaming.
