What did O’Donnell say she had when she left her show?
In a July 2025 interview with The Irish Times, O’Donnell said she had $100 million in the bank when she chose to leave The Rosie O’Donnell Show. She also said she had been offered $100 million to stay for two more seasons and declined. Both statements are her retrospective account, not independently documented compensation figures.
The show ran for six seasons, from 1996 to 2002. The Irish Times reported that she earned tens of millions of dollars from it, but did not provide a complete pay history. O’Donnell connected her decision to leave at age 40 with having made millions and wanting time for her children’s school plays and basketball games. That context helps explain the choice; it does not establish the total wealth she accumulated.

What can her property transactions tell us?
Property sales offer context, but a transaction price alone cannot show how much wealth a person retained. A home’s mortgage, taxes, upkeep, transaction costs, and any other financial obligations affect the owner’s net proceeds.
Realtor.com reported that O’Donnell bought a New York City penthouse for $8 million in 2017 and sold it for $4.75 million in 2025. The nominal difference between those reported prices is $3.25 million before costs and other financial effects; it does not establish the amount she gained or lost overall.

Other reported historical sales include a South Nyack residence for $5.1 million in 2017, a West Palm Beach property for $5 million in 2018, and a Miami Star Island home bought for $6.75 million in 1999 and sold for $16.5 million in 2003. These transactions do not amount to a current inventory of her properties or a balance sheet.
Do reports establish where she lives now?
No. The Irish Times described O’Donnell staying in Dublin from mid-January in an April 2025 interview and noted that a cello in the home came with the rental. Its July 2025 profile also referred to homes she had owned in New York, Miami, and Los Angeles. These are dated snapshots, not evidence of her present residence or current property holdings.
