Country musician Rory Feek married Rebecca on July 14, 2024, in Greycliff, Montana, more than eight years after his wife and musical partner, Joey Feek, died on March 4, 2016, at age 40.

Rory announced the marriage in a blog post titled “the wedding singer,” according to Entertainment Tonight’s report published July 20, 2024. The wedding took place in Greycliff, Montana. “Eight years after” describes the approximate interval between Joey’s death and Rory’s wedding; the dates do not fall on the same anniversary.

Entertainment Tonight described Rebecca as Indiana’s teacher and a family friend before the marriage. Joey died following cervical and colorectal cancer.
What Rory said about Indiana and Rebecca
In the story recounted by Entertainment Tonight, Rory said he tried to give Indiana time to understand Rebecca’s place in their lives. He reported that Indiana told Rebecca, “Ms. Rebecca, I think you should marry Papa,” and explained that her mother had been gone a long time and Rebecca might become her new mother if she married him.

Entertainment Tonight also reproduced Rory’s description of the wedding day: “When Indiana was given the gift of having a Mama in her life again. And Rebecca was given the gift of being a mother. And we became a family.” These are quotations attributed to Rory through the outlet’s report; they have not been independently checked against the original blog post.

Joey and Rory performed as the country and bluegrass duo Joey + Rory. Their album Hymns That Are Important to Us won the Grammy for Best Roots Gospel Album after Joey’s death; Rory accepted the award in memory of his wife, as reported by Entertainment Tonight. The duo’s album is distinct from Joey’s solo album If Not for You, released posthumously in 2017.

A CBS Sunday Morning interview release from approximately 2018 described Rory adjusting to life as a single father after Joey’s death. It identified Hope and Heidi as daughters from an earlier marriage and Indiana as his daughter with Joey. That account is historical, not a description of the family’s current private circumstances.
