It is the Aurzen Roku TV Smart Projector D1R Cube, also sold as the Aurzen EAZZE D1R Cube. Aurzen makes and sells the hardware; Roku supplies the operating system, streaming platform and TV interface.
Announced in the United States in September 2025, the projector lists at $249.99 and combines Full HD resolution, a claimed 40-to-150-inch image and Roku’s streaming experience. Its “live TV” features are delivered over the internet—not through a built-in over-the-air antenna tuner.
What Roku and Aurzen actually launched
Roku described the D1R Cube as its first Roku TV smart projector, extending Roku TV beyond conventional flat-panel televisions. The announcement was made on September 16, 2025, with Aurzen’s launch material dated September 18. Roku said the projector would be available through Amazon and Aurzen.com.
The important distinction is the partnership: Roku provides the platform, while Aurzen is responsible for the projector hardware and sales. Calling it “Roku’s projector” is useful shorthand only if that qualification is made clear.

The name also needs correcting. The product is the D1R Cube, not “DR1 Cube.” Roku and Aurzen’s official materials consistently use D1R.

These are manufacturer-published specifications. Aurzen says its 330 ANSI-lumen figure was verified under ANSI/ISO 21118 by SGS, but that does not replace independent testing of real-world brightness, contrast or colour performance.
There is also a minor specification change in the documentation: Aurzen’s original launch release listed fan noise at up to 32 dB, while the current product page lists up to 35 dB at one metre. The current product page is the more appropriate reference for present-day specifications. The 40-to-150-inch range belongs to the Cube; do not confuse it with the non-Cube D1R, which has a different claimed maximum.
What Roku OS adds
The D1R Cube does not require a separate Roku Streaming Stick or streaming box. After setup, the included Roku remote controls the Roku home screen, app library, search, recommendations and free streaming channels.

Supported services can include Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, YouTube, Prime Video, Apple TV and The Roku Channel, subject to regional availability, software support and individual account requirements. Roku’s free channels and live programming do not make paid services free: subscriptions such as Netflix or a live-TV streaming package still require separate accounts and payments.

Aurzen also lists AirPlay support and compatibility claims involving Alexa, Siri, Google Assistant and Apple HomeKit. These should be treated as manufacturer-stated capabilities whose exact behaviour can vary by country, ecosystem and software version.
Activation and online streaming require a Roku account and an internet connection. An external HDMI device can provide another source, and supported USB media may be usable locally, but Roku’s streaming apps do not work offline.
What “live TV” means on this projector
The phrase “live TV” is easy to misunderstand. On the D1R Cube, it primarily means internet-delivered live channels available through Roku and live programming inside supported streaming apps. Roku says its platform offers more than 500 free live-TV channels, although the selection varies by market and can change.
It does not mean the projector automatically receives local broadcast channels from an antenna. The current D1R Cube specification lists HDMI, USB and audio output, but no coaxial antenna input or built-in broadcast tuner.
- Free Roku live channels: Stream over the internet, generally with advertising.
- Subscription live TV: Use a compatible app and pay for the relevant service.
- Cable or satellite: Connect the provider’s box through HDMI.
- Over-the-air broadcasts: Require suitable tuner hardware and an antenna connection; do not assume the projector itself provides either.
Roku’s antenna guidance applies to Roku TVs with the appropriate antenna/coax input. It should not automatically be applied to this projector.

Picture and sound expectations
330 ANSI lumens favours dark rooms
The D1R Cube’s 330 ANSI-lumen rating places it in a budget-projector brightness class. That makes it better suited to a dark or dim bedroom, dorm room, controlled indoor space or outdoor viewing after sunset than to a bright living room.
Daylight, porch lights and streetlights will reduce perceived contrast. The larger the image, the more the available light is spread across the screen, so a 150-inch projection should not be interpreted as a guarantee of a bright, high-impact picture. A smaller image will generally appear more vivid.
Aurzen’s “up to 150 inches” figure describes the claimed projection range, not a promise that every size will be equally watchable in every environment. Wall colour, screen material, viewing mode, throw distance and ambient light all matter.
Full HD, not 4K
The native 1920 × 1080 resolution is appropriate for casual movies, television and presentations, particularly at a budget price. It is not a 4K projector and should not be evaluated as a replacement for a 4K HDR home-theater model.
Built-in audio
Two 5-watt speakers with Dolby Audio can simplify a casual movie night. For outdoor use, larger rooms or more immersive viewing, external audio may be preferable. Bluetooth and the 3.5 mm audio output provide alternatives, although the available materials do not independently establish latency or sound-quality performance.

Setup, placement and outdoor use
- Place the projector facing a suitable wall or screen and connect AC power.
- Turn it on and connect it to a 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Sign in to or create a Roku account.
- Let automatic focus and keystone correction adjust the image.
- Sign in separately to the streaming services you use.
- Use the included Roku infrared remote to navigate.
The Cube supports front, rear and ceiling installation. Aurzen lists a 1/4-inch mounting point, but the mounting screw is not included. Its claimed throw range is 1.1 to 3.3 metres, with a 1.23:1 throw ratio at a 60-inch image.

Automatic focus and keystone correction reduce setup effort, but digital correction is not the same as optical lens shift. Excessive keystone adjustment or digital zoom can reduce usable sharpness; the listed digital zoom range is 60% to 100%. For the best image, align the projector physically with the screen before relying heavily on software correction.
The projector is marketed for indoor and outdoor movie nights, but it has no listed internal battery. Outdoor use therefore requires AC power, a dark environment, Wi-Fi or another source, a screen or suitable wall and protection from moisture and weather. An external speaker may also be useful.
Who should buy the D1R Cube?
It makes sense for:
- Roku users who want the familiar interface without adding a streaming stick.
- Bedroom, dorm-room and occasional movie-night setups.
- Buyers who value a large image more than television-like daytime brightness.
- People who want a compact Full HD projector for nighttime backyard viewing.
- Viewers who primarily use internet streaming rather than an antenna.
Look elsewhere if:
- You need a dependable bright-room television for daily viewing or daytime sports.
- You want 4K, HDR, deep contrast or serious home-theater performance.
- You need a built-in battery or USB-C power.
- You require antenna reception without additional hardware.
- You need independently measured input lag for competitive gaming.
- You want a permanent installation with optical lens shift and more placement flexibility.
The available product information does not establish independent results for input lag, colour accuracy, actual contrast, HDR performance, motion handling, long-term reliability or real-world fan noise. Those should not be treated as proven strengths or weaknesses without separate testing.

Aurzen EAZZE D1R
The non-Cube Aurzen EAZZE D1R keeps Roku TV built in but lists a lower $199.99 price, 280 ANSI lumens, a claimed 60-to-200-inch image and a weight of about 3.1 pounds. Its listed noise level is up to 40 dB at one metre. It is the more price- and weight-focused option, not an interchangeable version of the Cube.

Aurzen EAZZE D1R air
The D1R air lists native 1080p resolution, 300 ANSI lumens, USB-C power and a claimed 40-to-150-inch image at $239.99 on Aurzen’s product page. It is more attractive for travel and flexible power arrangements, while the Cube has the higher listed brightness.
Vankyo Roku TV Smart Projector
Roku’s TV finder also lists a Vankyo Roku TV Smart Projector. The displayed pricing has included an approximately $229.99 starting price and a promotional listing around $198, but availability and pricing can change. The available listing does not provide the independent picture-quality or gaming measurements some buyers may want.
A conventional Roku TV
A flat-panel Roku TV is generally the better choice for everyday viewing, daylight, antenna reception and predictable picture quality. Roku’s product finder includes partner and Roku-branded televisions ranging from inexpensive HD sets to 4K, QLED and Mini-LED models. A television cannot provide the same portability or 100-inch-plus image, but it does not require a screen, dark room or careful projection placement.
Price, support and the buying decision
Aurzen’s current product page lists the D1R Cube at a regular price of $249.99. Promotional codes and sale prices can change, so treat any discount as temporary rather than part of the product’s permanent price.
Because Aurzen makes the hardware, hardware troubleshooting and warranty support ultimately depend on Aurzen. Roku’s support guidance directs owners of non-Roku-manufactured Roku TVs and projectors to the relevant manufacturer.
Verdict
The D1R Cube’s real innovation is not a new projection engine. It is the integration of Roku TV into a compact projector. For roughly $250 at its listed regular price, that makes streaming setup simpler and gives Roku users a large-screen format without a separate dongle.
It is a sensible choice for dark-room movie nights, bedrooms, dorms and occasional outdoor viewing. It is not a direct replacement for a bright living-room television, a serious home-theater projector or an antenna-equipped Roku TV. If “live TV” means free internet channels and streaming apps, the D1R Cube fits the description. If it means local broadcast channels from an antenna, additional tuner hardware is required.
