Piper was a professional wrestler and actor, best known to many wrestling viewers for his sharp-tongued villain persona and the interview segment Piper’s Pit. WWE’s official profile says he joined the company in 1984 after working in the NWA, highlights his role as a prominent antagonist in 1980s programming, and records his 2005 WWE Hall of Fame induction. He also returned to WWE after pursuing acting work.
Did Roddy Piper have cancer?
In a 2007 interview, Piper discussed a diagnosis of low-grade lymphoma and radiation treatment. WWE’s interview describes that earlier illness; it should not be confused with the cause of death reported by The Washington Post.
