Paramount’s 2009 announcement said Star Trek had earned over $375 million worldwide at the time of that announcement. That was the studio’s contemporaneous figure, not a current box-office total. Paramount announced the film’s DVD and Blu-ray release for November 17, 2009, in the same home-entertainment release announcement.
His television work
Orci’s television credits included Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Xena: Warrior Princess, Alias, Fringe, Transformers Prime, Sleepy Hollow, Scorpion, and Hawaii Five-0, according to the Television Academy.
Orci’s creative partnership with Alex Kurtzman
Orci’s best-known film and television work was closely linked to his longtime partnership with writer and producer Alex Kurtzman. The Los Angeles Times reported that the two met in a film studies class at Crossroads School in the Santa Monica area, bonded over movies, and chose to build their careers together. Their joint work included Transformers and Star Trek, among other projects. The newspaper reported that they went separate creative directions in 2014.
