The spot put Irwin in a blue suit rather than his familiar khaki, surrounded by animal-themed spectacle. It promoted the show’s 10th season, which was scheduled to premiere on Network 10 and 10Play on 24 March 2024.
What was in Robert Irwin’s I’m A Celebrity promo?
The campaign, reported by B&T on 30 January 2024, presented Irwin singing and dancing alongside returning host Julia Morris and backup dancers. Its staging leaned into wildlife and jungle imagery: the report describes snakes, spiders, dancers in kangaroo onesies and a gorilla playing drums.

The visual joke was in part a change of register. Irwin is closely associated with khaki and wildlife, but the ad put him in a blue suit and a deliberately theatrical song-and-dance routine. B&T quoted him singing: “Just think of what we could do, remember I was born in Australia Zoo,” followed by, “I may be only 20, but I come from Wildlife royalty”. The age reference is part of the lyric as reported, not a separate biographical claim.
B&T’s campaign report describes the spot and its visuals. The reporting available does not identify a studio location, so “in studio” should not be taken as a verified description of where it was filmed.

Who hosted the 2024 Australian season?
Irwin joined Morris for the show’s 10th season. Paramount’s 2024 upfront announcements named him as Morris’s new co-host. Mediaweek reproduced Irwin’s statement that he was honoured by the appointment and looked forward to returning to the African jungle setting to introduce celebrities to its wildlife. Morris said she was “absolutely overjoyed” by the appointment.
Irwin took over the co-host role after Dr Chris Brown left Network 10 for Seven, according to The Australian Women’s Weekly’s season guide. The host change was also covered in Mediaweek’s account of Paramount’s announcements.
