Rider Strong was among the people who wrote letters supporting Brian Peck during Peck’s criminal case. Years later, Drake Bell said Strong contacted him, apologized, and spoke with him for about two hours. Those events are both part of the story, but the later conversation is known here through Bell’s account—not a public statement or transcript from Strong.
What Rider Strong’s letter of support means
ABC News reported that 41 letters supporting Peck were uncovered during the case, including letters from Strong and his Boy Meets World co-star Will Friedle. The report said it was unclear whether the writers knew the full extent of Peck’s crimes. What Brian Peck was convicted of—and what the reporting says
ABC News reported that Peck pleaded no contest in 2004 to two child sexual abuse charges, received a 16-month jail sentence, and was required to register as a sex offender. A no-contest plea is not a jury verdict, so it is important to describe the case using the terms reported rather than saying a jury convicted him.
In March 2024, the documentary series Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV publicly identified Bell as the child actor involved in Peck’s case. ABC News reported that Bell described being abused by Peck when Bell was 15. Bell recalled, “I froze. I was in shock. I didn’t know what to do.” ABC News covered Bell’s account.

Did Rider Strong apologize to Drake Bell?
According to a December 2024 report, Bell said on The Sarah Fraser Show that Strong reached out and apologized. Bell described Strong as “very apologetic and sweet” and said they had “a really long, like two-hour conversation.” Bell also said Strong and Friedle check in on him. The account is Bell’s; the report does not provide Strong’s full private account or a transcript of their conversation. Us Weekly reported Bell’s description of the contact.

Did Drake Bell forgive Rider Strong?
Bell has publicly expressed affection and forgiveness toward Strong. In a social media post quoted by the December 2024 report, he wrote, “We are all healing together. I have nothing but love and forgiveness for him.” That is Bell’s own description of his feelings and relationship; it does not speak for other survivors or establish that trauma is over.
The chronology matters: Strong’s letter was support for Peck during the criminal case, while the later apology and contact are described by Bell. Acknowledging Bell’s account of reconciliation does not erase the earlier support, and the available reporting does not establish that Strong knew the full extent of Peck’s crimes when he wrote the letter.
