Ricki Lake remembered a “super special human”

May he RIP.” She added that she loved him “so much,” according to Fox News, July 14, 2024. Simmons had appeared on Lake’s talk show, which Fox News reports ran from 1993 to 2004.
Pauly Shore called him “one of a kind”
Actor and comedian Shore posted a tribute recalling Simmons’s life and story and wishing him peace. “You’re one of a kind, Richard. An amazing life. An amazing story. They broke the dolphin shorts when they made you. Rest in peace, my friend. Rest in peace,” Shore wrote, as quoted by The Independent, July 15, 2024.
Shore was also attached to a planned Simmons biopic, though Simmons had distanced himself from or objected to the project, according to the two outlets. Their 2024 reports do not establish the project’s current status.
