Who are Rey’s parents?
Rey’s parents hid her on Jakku to protect her. Kylo Ren reveals that she is the granddaughter of Emperor Palpatine. What happens to Rey at the end of Star Wars 9?
On Exegol, Rey refuses Palpatine’s attempt to make her his successor and defeats him with the aid of the Jedi who came before her. Ben Solo, returned to the light, gives his life to restore hers. Rey then travels to Tatooine, buries Luke and Leia’s lightsabers, and takes the name Skywalker. Will Daisy Ridley return as Rey?
Yes. At Star Wars Celebration Europe in 2023, Lucasfilm announced a Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy-directed film set after The Rise of Skywalker, with Ridley returning as Rey as she builds a new Jedi Order. That is the announced premise; the cited official announcement and showcase report do not establish a release date, current production stage, final title or further plot details. What other announced Rey story takes place before Episode IX?
The novel Star Wars: Legacy follows Leia and Rey in the months between The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker. It concerns an earlier period, not Rey’s life after Episode IX. Lucasfilm’s announcement establishes the premise; it does not by itself confirm current publication status or availability.
