The event and Plowman’s retirement
The John Nicholls Medal ceremony took place in October 2023. Carlton coach Michael Voss’s official speech transcript identifies Plowman and Ed Curnow among the club’s retiring players, providing club context for the event but not independent confirmation of the outfit descriptions or online comments: Carlton Football Club’s transcript.
The AFL reported in September 2023 that Plowman retired after 11 seasons and 145 games. It recorded 20 appearances for Greater Western Sydney and 125 for Carlton.
