Reese’s Book Club’s 2024 archive lists these selections by date, including multiple picks in May, September and October. Counting the dated titles below gives 12 entries; the archive’s introductory summary says 11, an inconsistency in the official page. The archive sequence reviewed has no July or August entry.

Reese’s Book Club picks for 2024

  1. January 1 — First Lie Wins by Ashley Elston. Evie Porter takes on a supplied identity and assignment, but her past begins to collide with the life she is building.
  2. February 1 — Redwood Court by DéLana R. A. Dameron. Mika comes of age in a close-knit Black working-class neighborhood in Columbia, South Carolina, shaped by family and neighbors.
  3. March 1 — Anita de Monte Laughs Last by Xochitl Gonzalez. Two timelines connect the death and erasure of an artist in 1985 with a 1998 art-history student who uncovers her story.
  4. April 1 — The Most Fun We Ever Had by Claire Lombardo. Four adult sisters and their parents’ long marriage are at the center of a family story set in motion by a long-held secret.
  5. May 1 — How to End a Love Story by Yulin Kuang. Two screenwriters with a painful shared past are forced to work together on a television adaptation.
  6. May 2 — Twelfth Knight by Alexene Farol Follmuth. Viola, a tabletop and online-game enthusiast, uses a male avatar in an MMORPG and connects with Jack, a school athlete who joins the game. The club’s entry identifies it as a YA pick.
  7. June 1 — The Unwedding by Ally Condie. Ellery Wainwright finds herself alone at a Big Sur resort planned for her twentieth wedding anniversary.
  8. September 6 — The Cliffs by J. Courtney Sullivan. An archivist returns to Maine and is asked to research a house with a century of secrets and the women connected to it.
  9. September 6 — Slow Dance by Rainbow Rowell. Former best friends Shiloh and Cary reconnect as adults after fourteen years apart.
  10. September 6 — The Comfort of Crows by Margaret Renkl. The book follows natural and personal seasons and includes 52 original color artworks by Billy Renkl.
  11. October 5 — Looking for Smoke by K. A. Cobell. Four young people connected to a Blackfeet Giveaway become suspects after one of their group is murdered.
  12. October 7 — Society of Lies by Lauren Ling Brown. A sister investigates the death of a Princeton graduate and a secret society linked to their college years.

How to choose a book from the list

The archive’s synopses offer a quick way to narrow the choices by premise. These groupings are practical descriptions of the summaries, not an official genre classification from the club.

  • Mystery, thriller and suspense: First Lie Wins, The Unwedding, Looking for Smoke and Society of Lies.
  • Family and relationships: The Most Fun We Ever Had, How to End a Love Story, Slow Dance and Redwood Court.
  • Art, history and social themes: Anita de Monte Laughs Last.
  • YA and online gaming: Twelfth Knight.
  • Nature writing: The Comfort of Crows.
  • A house with a layered history: The Cliffs.

For format or length, check the edition at your preferred bookseller or library: availability varies by retailer and edition. The official archive links to some retailer and Apple Books editions, but those links do not establish that every format is currently in stock.

Why the book club makes these selections

Reese’s Book Club describes its monthly choice as “a book with a woman at the center of the story.” Its complete-list introduction also says there is no fixed formula for the books it spotlights. The club’s FAQ describes its ethos in terms of honesty, sincerity, women’s experiences, and new voices and perspectives. These are the organization’s own descriptions of its approach, not a formal rule applied to every book.

Why the official shop shows fewer titles

The current shop collection labeled “Our 2024 Picks” displays four books: First Lie Wins, The Most Fun We Ever Had, Anatomy and How to End a Love Story. It is a current product assortment, not the complete dated reading list. Use the dated archive when checking which books were selected in 2024; shop titles and availability may change.
