For strategy and deception, try The Traitors; for a giant elimination game, Squid Game: The Challenge; for dating and villa drama, Love Island USA. If you want something lighter, look at Finding Mr. Christmas or the cozy picks TVLine called out. These are taste-led recommendations from 2025 lists, not an objective ranking—and platform availability can vary by country and season.
What reality show should I watch next?
Start with the mood and format you want rather than a single “best” pick. TheWrap’s 2025 retrospective spans dating, social competition, holiday-themed competition, celebrity lifestyle, and international ensemble casts. TVLine’s list makes room for both cozy, low-stakes viewing and sharper competition or interpersonal conflict. Neither outlet compares every show using the same scoring system.

Which reality competition should I try?
Choose The Traitors for reading people
Season 3 returned to Peacock in January 2025. The Associated Press describes the show as a game of strategy and manipulation: contestants work to identify the hidden Traitors while pursuing the prize. Choose it when the social deduction and shifting alliances matter more to you than a straightforward skills contest. The Associated Press’s January 2025 preview and TheWrap’s 2025 selection cover the season and its format.
Choose Squid Game: The Challenge for scale and elimination stakes
Netflix Tudum announced Season 2 with 456 players and a $4.56 million prize, and listed Nov. 4, 2025 as its premiere date. Those numbers describe the announced format and prize—not a result or confirmation of what any contestant ultimately won. Netflix Tudum’s 2025–2026 unscripted slate is the source for those details; TheWrap also included the season in its 2025 list and named Netflix as the destination.

Choose Finding Mr. Christmas for a holiday-themed contest
TheWrap describes Season 2 as ten men competing for a chance to become a Hallmark leading man, with Hallmark+ named as the viewing destination. Its seasonal premise makes it a natural pick when you want a competition with a lighter holiday frame rather than a high-conflict social game. TheWrap’s description does not establish episode cadence or season length.
When did the 2025 seasons arrive?
Two dated releases are established in the cited official announcements. The Traitors Season 3 returned to Peacock in January 2025, according to the Associated Press’s Jan. 3 preview. NBCUniversal says Love Island USA Season 7 premiered on Peacock on June 3, 2025. Netflix Tudum listed Nov. 4, 2025 for Squid Game: The Challenge Season 2 in its slate announcement. A planned premiere date in an announcement is not itself proof of present availability.
NBCUniversal’s June 25, 2025 announcement reported that 39% of the Season 7 audience were new viewers and that nearly 30% of viewing happened on mobile devices. It also reported 54 million social media interactions from June 2 to June 19 across Instagram, Facebook, X, and YouTube, plus more than 623 million TikTok video views, a 232% increase from the prior season. These are figures attributed to Peacock and NBCUniversal, not independent measurements of total audience. The same company announcement described Peacock’s ranking using preliminary Nielsen data for the week of June 9, 2025; that is a dated ranking, not a year-end comparison across all reality shows.
How should I compare shows before starting?
- Format: Decide whether you want social deduction, dating, a large elimination contest, a themed competition, or cast-driven lifestyle drama.
- Tone: TVLine’s cozy picks offer a different experience from shows built around strategic suspicion, villa drama, or interpersonal conflict.
- Commitment: The cited lists do not provide a standardized comparison of episode cadence or season length. Check the selected season’s episode guide if that affects your choice.
- Availability: Peacock, Netflix, Hallmark+, and Bravo appear as destinations for particular selections in the cited coverage. Treat those as source-time associations, not guarantees; availability can differ by country and season.
Are these still current recommendations?
This is a guide to shows and seasons highlighted on 2025 slates and year-end lists, not a 2026 release calendar. Some recommendations name a specific 2025 season; others, particularly TVLine’s cozy picks, do not specify a season in the cited description. Before adding a show to a watchlist, check the service available in your country and confirm that it carries the season you want.
