Prime Focus Studios unveiled the first look at Ranbir Kapoor as Rama on April 2, 2026. The live-action epic, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, is planned as two films. Its reported ₹4,000 crore figure covers both films and Hollywood promotional costs—not Part 1 alone—and Sony Pictures UK lists Part One for cinemas on November 6, 2026.
What the first look revealed
The April 2 reveal introduced Kapoor as Rama, framing the character around duty, sacrifice and moral choice. It was a character-focused first look, not the film’s trailer. Prime Focus Studios announced the official trailer on July 30, 2026, describing it as a global release in five Indian languages. Prime Focus Studios’ first-look announcement and its trailer announcement mark those separate campaign milestones.

What does the ₹4,000 crore budget figure cover?
Yash clarified that the often-cited ₹4,000 crore figure includes both films and Hollywood promotional costs. It is not a stated production budget for Part 1 alone, nor is it presented as an audited cost breakdown. The Indian Express quoted Yash saying: “There’s a misunderstanding I should clarify. Rs 4000 crore, quoted by my partner (Namit Malhotra), includes both the films, and the promotional costs for Hollywood.”

The producer has not published a separate Part 1-only budget or an audited production-cost breakdown in the cited announcements. The figure should therefore be understood as Yash’s clarification of the combined scope, rather than as an independently detailed budget. The Indian Express report published this clarification on August 17, 2026.
