Carpani characterized Claudia as “a flawed, deeply human, complicated character” who did not understand how her actions would hurt the family. She also said she liked that Claudia might seem like a villain—a contrast for Australian viewers who remembered her as Jodi on McLeod’s Daughters. These descriptions come from Carpani’s comments reported by PerthNow.
How was Claudia different from Jodi Fountain?
On McLeod’s Daughters, Carpani played Jodi Fountain, a role that made her familiar to many Australian viewers. Claudia was a more complicated presence: her actions caused significant problems for the Morgan family, even though she did not grasp their impact. The contrast let Carpani return to an iconic Australian series in a character unlike the one audiences most readily associated with her.

The announcement did not confirm returning cast or a premiere date, and it did not establish a connection between Carpani and the new series. See Stan’s announcement for the details it confirmed.
