The Story Map organizes important places and moments; the film, working-titled Our Story: Pride in Memory, is a separate narrative project built around residents’ interviews and archival materials.
What the Pride in Memory Story Map documents
The project describes its Story Map as a record of key places and moments in local LGBTQ+ history gathered by the Pride in Memory steering committee. It is a place-based way to explore the region’s history, rather than the documentary itself. The project page does not identify the map platform or state when it launched. How the Story Map differs from the documentary
| Format | What it contains | Its role |
|---|---|---|
| Story Map | Key places and moments in Quad Cities LGBTQ+ history gathered by the steering committee. | Organizes local history around locations and events. |
| Documentary | Residents’ on-camera interviews alongside archival images, documents and film footage. | Builds a broader historical narrative across generations and events. |
The documentary’s working title is Our Story: Pride in Memory. Its project description traces local LGBTQ+ history from what it calls the “guarded 1950s” through the AIDS crisis and marriage equality, and into current attempts to roll back LGBTQ+ rights. The project names Kelly and Tammy Rundle of Moline-based Fourth Wall Films as conducting the production phase. Project description
A wider effort to preserve community history
The Story Map and film are part of a larger preservation initiative. According to the project’s About page, the effort began after the deaths of community leaders Joyce Wiley and Clayton Peterson prompted Quad Cities seniors to start recording oral histories during the pandemic. The group’s work also includes:
#1 Best Overall
- Historical panels displayed in libraries and community venues.
- Artifacts collected for donation and display at the Putnam Museum.
- Augustana College student research into local LGBTQ+ history.
- Oral histories and visual history materials that add personal accounts and records to the archive.
The project lists Quad Citians Affirming Diversity, Augustana College, Putnam Museum, Fourth Wall Films, WVIK, QC Pride, Inc., The Project of the Quad Cities and One Human Family QCA among its partners. It also says it will work with public libraries throughout the Quad Cities. Pride in Memory About page

The project page gives a working title and production team but does not provide a final title, release date or distribution plan. A local report published April 11, 2024 described the film as in production and covered a fundraiser with a preview; that report reflects the project’s status at that time, not its present availability. The Real Mainstream, April 11, 2024
A WVIK calendar listing for October 6, 2026 advertised a Davenport Public Library program about LGBTQ+ history in the Quad Cities. That listing documents community programming, not a documentary screening or release. WVIK community calendar
