Marie Claire later reported that Aya confirmed Charlotte was not wearing its design. The Harry connection was therefore an incorrect brand attribution—not evidence that Charlotte wore jewelry made by Harry’s ex.
Why the necklace was linked to Prince Harry
Charlotte wore a crystal necklace during the Royal Family’s Christmas Day church walk at Sandringham in December 2024. Early coverage identified it as a design from Aya, a jewelry line associated with Chelsy Davy, and attached a reported price of $1,800. Cosmopolitan’s January 8, 2025 article presented that attribution as a claim reported by the Daily Mail via The Sun; it was not a confirmed identification of Charlotte’s necklace. Davy is Prince Harry’s former girlfriend, which supplied the indirect connection. But once Aya’s identification was corrected, there was no established link between Charlotte’s necklace and Davy.
What was corrected—and what remains uncertain
Marie Claire updated its account on January 9, 2025, reporting that Aya confirmed through Gemfields that Charlotte was not wearing an Aya necklace. Marie Claire then identified a multistone Accessorize necklace as a likely visual match. That was a comparison based on appearance, not a confirmed identification by Charlotte’s family or the retailer. Marie Claire’s updated report

What the likely Accessorize match looked like
Marie Claire described the candidate necklace as 14-carat gold-plated and set with quartz, carnelian, amethyst, citrine, and onyx. Those details describe the item the publication considered a visual match; they do not establish that it was Charlotte’s exact necklace.
What the reports do not establish
- They do not identify the exact retail necklace Charlotte wore.
- They do not say how she obtained it or who bought it.
- They provide no evidence of a gift, a deliberate reference to Harry or Meghan, or a message about family relationships.
The dependable takeaway is narrower than the original headline claim: the $1,800 Aya attribution was corrected, while the Accessorize suggestion remains an unconfirmed visual match.
