In its August 2024 paperback announcement, Penguin Random House said Spare had sold more than 6 million copies worldwide across formats. That is the publisher’s figure at the time of the announcement, not a paperback-only count or a current total. The publisher also said the book held the Guinness World Record for fastest-selling nonfiction book of all time; that record claim is attributed to the publisher’s announcement.
