Australian YouTuber Alexandra Paula Starling, known online as Pretty Pastel Please, died in June 2024 at age 30. Her death was announced on July 5 and described as sudden and unexpected. A later report attributed a cause to a family Facebook post, but the primary coronial record is not available in the cited coverage.
Who was Pretty Pastel Please?
Pretty Pastel Please was the online name of Alexandra Paula Starling, an Australian creator. Her channel page lists her life years as 1993–2024: Pretty Pastel Please channel.
She was known for fashion hauls, product reviews and travel videos, as well as videos featuring her pet parrot, Archie. Contemporary reports described her YouTube audience at the time as roughly 690,000–691,000 subscribers; those were figures reported in July 2024, not current counts. 7NEWS and PerthNow reported on her death and channel.
When did she die, and when was it announced?
Contemporaneous news reports said Starling died in June 2024, but the July announcement did not give an exact date. Her death was publicly announced on July 5, 2024. 7NEWS reproduced the announcement’s words: “It is with a heavy heart that we must inform you that Alex, known to many as Pretty Pastel Please, has passed away.” It also described her passing as “sudden, unexpected and devastating.” 7NEWS and The Independent reported the announcement on July 5.

What was the reported cause of death?
The July 5 announcement did not state a cause. On August 13, 2024, Dexerto reported that a Facebook post attributed to Starling’s family said coroners had determined lymphocytic myocarditis. Dexerto’s report is a later account of the family post, not a primary coronial record; the coronial document itself is not available in the cited coverage. The cause should therefore be described as reported by Dexerto on the basis of that post, rather than as independently verified here.
