Disney’s February 25, 2026 announcement says Predator: Badlands earned $184.5 million worldwide, surpassing 2004’s Alien vs. Predator to become the franchise’s highest-grossing entry. The studio’s February 18 announcement also described it as the franchise’s highest-grossing film. Those are claims about the Predator series—not a ranking of every 20th Century Studios release.

The Numbers lists November 5, 2025 as the film’s release date in its franchise table; the Associated Press reported its U.S. theatrical opening on November 7. A release-date field and a reported U.S. opening date need not describe the same market or event. Why the studio-wide ranking is a different question
To call a movie one of a studio’s all-time highest-grossing releases, a ranking needs a defined set of films and a consistent way to compare them. For this claim, that would mean specifying whether the list covers the 20th Century Studios label alone or also legacy 20th Century Fox titles, how crossover films such as Alien vs. Predator are classified, and whether grosses are worldwide or domestic. It would also need to say whether figures are lifetime theatrical grosses in nominal dollars or adjusted for inflation, and how rereleases are treated.

Box-office gross is not the same as profit
The Numbers lists a $105 million production budget. That figure alone does not show whether the film made a profit: a production budget is not a full account of marketing, distribution costs, the share retained by theaters, or other revenue and expenses. Box-office gross and a production-budget figure are useful context, but they are not a complete financial statement.

Disney reported nearly 9 million global views across Disney+ and Hulu in the film’s first five days of streaming, and more than 300 million hours streamed across the Predator franchise globally on those services. These are studio-reported streaming figures, not ticket sales; Disney’s wording does not establish that the nearly 9 million views represent unique viewers. The figures were published February 18, 2026, in Disney’s announcement.
