The official Prassthanam trailer sets up a political family drama in which a succession decision pits a politician’s stepson against his biological son. Sanjay Dutt, Ali Fazal and Jackie Shroff are among the cast named in the trailer listing. The film was announced for cinema release on 20 September 2019.
What the Prassthanam trailer sets up
Baldev Pratap Singh, played by Sanjay Dutt, is a politician who chooses his stepson as his heir. Prime Video’s synopsis says Baldev regards him as a thinking man; the decision angers Baldev’s biological son and leads to violence. Apple TV’s synopsis similarly describes a politician who marries a widow with children and comes to trust his new stepson more than his own son in political matters.
