In an August 24, 2023 release, the Los Angeles Police Department said detectives were investigating a robbery at a Granada Hills home on August 15. LAPD identified Taurus Bartlett’s brother, Taurean Bartlett—known as Trench Baby—as the suspect in that robbery and said it arrested him for robbery.

During searches of Taurus Bartlett’s residence and vehicle, officers found what LAPD described as a short-barreled rifle. The department said it arrested Polo G for violating California Penal Code section 33215, which concerns possession of a short-barreled rifle. The department’s account is in its official release.
How were the kidnapping, robbery and assault allegations separate?
The kidnapping, robbery and assault-with-a-deadly-weapon allegations were described in later reporting as a separate Burbank police matter involving a reported April 2023 incident. A 2026 LegalClarity overview says the brothers were rearrested by Burbank police after their release and that the allegations were referred to the Los Angeles County District Attorney for review. That is a secondary account, not a court record or an authoritative confirmation of the case’s outcome.

The available accounts therefore describe two distinct episodes: LAPD’s August search and firearm arrest during a Granada Hills robbery investigation, and a separately reported set of allegations handled by Burbank police. An arrest or allegation is not proof of guilt.
What was reported about their release?
The Los Angeles Times reported that the brothers were arrested on August 23 after the search of Polo G’s Chatsworth home. It said Taurean Bartlett was released after posting $100,000 bail and Taurus Bartlett was released on his own recognizance later that evening. Those were the reported terms at the time, not evidence of anyone’s present custody status.

The Times also quoted Polo G’s attorney, Bradford Cohen: “We believe once all the facts come out it will be a very different picture than how the charges look on paper.” That was the defense’s response, not a police or court finding. Read the Los Angeles Times report.

The sources cited here do not establish a final court disposition for the separate Burbank allegations. LegalClarity’s June 27, 2026 overview says it found no public indication that formal charges were filed, but that secondary summary does not establish what a court ultimately decided. The available record supports distinguishing the reported allegations from the LAPD firearm arrest; it does not support stating a definitive outcome for the Burbank matter.
