Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y are part of Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Mega Dimension, the paid expansion for Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Pokémon announced the DLC on September 12, 2025; it released on December 10, 2025. The Raichu forms each use a different Mega Stone, and players must finish the base game’s main story before progressing through the DLC story.
What the Mega Raichu X and Y reveal confirms
The official Mega Dimension page confirms both Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y are included in the expansion. It specifies that the two forms Mega Evolve using different Mega Stones.
The official text establishes their names and their separate Mega Stones, but does not explain their battle stats, types, abilities, designs in detail, or how players obtain each stone. Those details should not be inferred from the names alone.
When the DLC was announced and released
Pokémon announced Mega Dimension on September 12, 2025, describing additional story content set after the main story. That announcement also promoted Holo-X and Holo-Y apparel for use in the base game; the clothing and the later story expansion were separate release milestones. The expansion itself launched on December 10, 2025, according to Pokémon’s launch announcement.
