A Dancing with the Stars watch party can be as simple as snacks, a prediction card and one ballroom-inspired touch. The show’s celebrity-and-professional-dancer routines and expert judging provide an easy theme; no formal dress code or elaborate setup is needed.
Choose live viewing or an after-show gathering
For Season 35, ABC’s help page lists a live simulcast on ABC and Disney+. Episodes are available on Disney+ shortly after the simulcast and on ABC.com and Hulu the next day. Check local listings and the current ABC viewing and voting information close to your event, since schedules and availability can vary.
| Plan | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Watch live | ABC and Disney+ carry the Season 35 simulcast, according to ABC’s help page. |
| Watch later | ABC says episodes appear on Disney+ shortly after the simulcast and on ABC.com and Hulu the next day. |
Before inviting guests, decide which service you’ll use and ask them to check their access. If you plan to watch later, make clear that official voting takes place during the live window, not during the replay.
Add a theme without making extra work
Offer an optional dress-up prompt
Invite guests to wear something sparkly, colorful or simply comfortable enough for a little dancing. Make dressing up optional so the evening still feels like a relaxed viewing party.

What guests should know about voting
ABC’s current Season 35 guidance says online voting is open to eligible viewers aged 18 or older who are physically in the United States, its territories or Canada, and requires an account. SMS voting is limited to viewers in the United States and its territories using participating carriers; it is not available in Canada. ABC says voting happens during the initial live simulcast and closes shortly after the final competitive dance. Confirm the current rules on the ABC help page before the party.
The official Dancing with the Stars voting page says viewers may cast up to 10 votes per couple per voting method. Online votes can be changed and saved before voting closes; submitted SMS votes cannot be changed. ABC says a Disney+ subscription is not required to vote. If voting is part of the evening, let guests know that location, age and method rules apply, and that replay viewers won’t be able to vote after the live window.
