The Mandalorian visits several distinct worlds, but the available official sources do not establish a definitive list of 15 newly introduced planets or map every destination to a named galactic region. They do establish a useful set of locations—and an important correction: Trask is a moon, while Tatooine and Krownest predate the series.
Is there an official list of 15 new planets?
The official StarWars.com sources cited here do not confirm a complete list of 15 planets introduced by The Mandalorian, nor do they establish a named galaxy region for every world. A destination appearing in the series is not necessarily a franchise debut: some settings were already part of Star Wars, and one frequently included location is a moon rather than a planet.
The table separates what the official Databank establishes about each location from what it does not. “Series appearance” means the Databank lists The Mandalorian; it does not, by itself, prove that the world first appeared in the series.
| Location | Classification and setting | What the official source establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Nevarro | Planet; ashen terrain, black sands and lava flows | The Databank lists The Mandalorian. It describes the world as having housed an Imperial Remnant, a Bounty Hunter Guild hub and a Mandalorian covert in the early New Republic; it also says the planet has since been rehabilitated. StarWars.com Databank: Nevarro |
| Arvala-7 | Frontier world; hardened mud, dust clouds and mud flats | The Databank lists The Mandalorian and describes sparse settlements, including vapor farmers and Jawa settlers. StarWars.com Databank: Arvala-7 |
| Maldo Kreis | Frozen world; ice, snow, barren wastelands and caverns | The Databank lists The Mandalorian. StarWars.com Databank: Maldo Kreis |
| Sorgan | Green world with villages and wetlands | The Databank lists The Mandalorian and describes farmers fishing for krill, as well as Klatooinian raiders. StarWars.com Databank: Sorgan |
| Trask | Moon orbiting the gas giant Kol Iben; oceans and port settlements | The Databank identifies Trask as a moon and lists The Mandalorian. StarWars.com Databank: Trask |
| Tatooine | Desert planet in the Outer Rim | An established Star Wars setting that also appears in The Mandalorian, not a new franchise planet. StarWars.com Databank: Tatooine |
| Krownest | Cold, mountainous world associated with Clan Wren | The Databank lists Star Wars Rebels as its appearance; it should not be presented as a planet introduced by The Mandalorian. StarWars.com Databank: Krownest |
| Corvus | Classification and named galactic region: not stated in the cited official source | Din Djarin’s official Databank page recounts Ahsoka investigating links to Grand Admiral Thrawn on Corvus. That confirms a series destination, not a complete classification or map placement. StarWars.com Databank: Din Djarin |
| Tython | Classification and named galactic region: not stated in the cited official source | Din Djarin’s official Databank page recounts Grogu being taken from a seeing stone on Tython. That supports its presence in the story, not its inclusion in a definitive list of new planets. StarWars.com Databank: Din Djarin |
What kinds of settings does the series visit?
The confirmed descriptions show the series moving among sharply different environments: volcanic and ashen Nevarro, muddy Arvala-7, frozen Maldo Kreis, wetland Sorgan and ocean-covered Trask. Tatooine adds a familiar desert setting. This comparison is about the settings described by the official sources, not a claim that these are the series’ only destinations.

Where are these locations in the Star Wars galaxy?
StarWars.com’s galaxy map presents broad regions, planets and trade routes, but the cited material does not verify a named region or coordinate for each location in the table. Avoid assigning a location to the Outer Rim, another region or a specific position unless a source explicitly does so. Tatooine is specifically identified as an Outer Rim planet in its Databank entry; that fact should not be generalized to the other destinations.
The galaxy-map page also points readers to the companion book Star Wars Timelines. A regional map can help orient readers, but the map page alone does not substantiate a complete series-specific planet list or every individual placement.

How to read claims that a planet was “introduced” by the series
- Series location: A source records the world’s presence in The Mandalorian.
- Series debut: The world first appears in this series. A listing of the series as an appearance does not necessarily establish this.
- Franchise debut: The world first appears anywhere in Star Wars. Tatooine is explicitly an older setting, and Krownest is associated in the Databank with Star Wars Rebels.
- Planet: A world classified as a planet. Trask does not qualify in the cited Databank entry; it is a moon orbiting Kol Iben.
These distinctions explain why a list of series destinations cannot automatically be called “15 new planets.” The official pages cited here substantiate several appearances and descriptions, but not that exact count or the franchise-debut status of every entry.
