Pique Coffee hosted two alcohol-free Friday Flow events at 48 Grantham Street, Wembley, on 23 and 30 May 2025. The café’s owners described the trial as Perth’s first exclusively alcohol-free bar, but it was a two-night event—not evidence that a permanent bar opened or that Friday Flow is still running.
What was Pique Coffee’s Friday Flow?
For two Friday evenings, owners Jase and Claire Millar gave their Wembley coffee shop a bar-style format built around alcohol-free drinks and conversation. The aim was to offer the familiar social experience of after-work drinks without alcohol. Claire Millar told PerthNow that the idea brought the feeling of a bar together with an exclusively alcohol-free menu; “Perth’s first” was the owners’ characterization reported at the time, rather than an independently established citywide claim. PerthNow reported on the events on 30 May 2025.
What was on the drinks menu?
Reported options included coffee-inspired drinks and mocktails named Scarborough Sunset, Summer Holidaze and Cold Fashioned. Pique Coffee’s event page also described a range of 0% wine and beer. The available information does not list brands, prices or a complete menu.
How did Mens Talk take part?
Pique partnered with Mens Talk, a not-for-profit focused on men’s mental health and community connection. A PerthNow report dated 23 May 2025 said 10% of bar sales from the special openings would go to Mens Talk; Pique’s event page likewise described donating 10% of Friday Flow bar sales. The sources do not report the amount ultimately raised.

Jase Millar described the events as a way to welcome men into a space to connect and start conversations about mental health. Mens Talk chief executive Paul Litwin said the organization needed to meet people where they were. PerthNow also cited Australian Bureau of Statistics figures: 2,419 deaths by suicide in Australia in 2024, and men accounting for 75% of deaths by suicide each year. Those figures provide context for the partnership; they do not measure any effect of the Pique events.
Is Pique Coffee still an alcohol-free bar?
The documented offer was a two-Friday trial, not a confirmed permanent bar schedule. Pique’s event page displayed 12 December 2025 as the next Friday Flow date, which has passed. The available sources do not establish whether later events have been announced or whether the bar format continues. Check with Pique Coffee directly before making a trip or relying on a current menu. The event page also mentioned food from neighboring businesses Mummucc’ and Monsterella, but that page is not confirmation that the arrangement remains available.

What to check when looking for alcohol-free drinks in Perth
Friday Flow offered an example of an alcohol-free social setting, but the sources do not provide a comparison of Perth venues, prices, opening hours or accessibility. When deciding where to go, check whether the venue is exclusively alcohol-free or simply has alcohol-free choices, whether its menu includes the drink styles you want, and whether the event or regular hours are current.
