It brought together livestock and equestrian competitions, animal encounters, carnival rides and games, cooking demonstrations, live entertainment and fireworks. Those dates have passed; check the official event page for confirmed dates and details before planning a future visit.
What makes the Perth Royal Show distinctive?
The show combines the energy of a carnival with the agricultural competitions and displays at the heart of its identity. Visitors can move between livestock and equestrian events, agricultural and arts competitions, animal encounters, rides, games and food demonstrations. The official program also promotes the Farmyard Nursery, live music and special performances.
That mix makes the show relevant to more than one kind of visitor: families seeking rides and animal experiences can also encounter the farming and produce traditions of Western Australia. The advertised attractions are not an exhaustive timetable, and individual activities can vary by day.
What could visitors see and do?
Animals and agricultural competitions
Livestock and equestrian competitions, agricultural displays and the Farmyard Nursery give the event its connection to farming and regional communities. Animal encounters offer another way to engage with animals beyond watching competitions.

How much did admission and rides cost in 2026?
Admission and carnival spending were separate. Megatix’s 2026 final-release listing showed these entry prices, inclusive of fees; they apply to that edition only and are not current prices for a future show.
| 2026 admission category | Price | Conditions shown in the listing |
|---|---|---|
| Adult | $49.95 | Aged 16 and over |
| Child | $25.60 | Aged 4–15 |
| Concession | $28.65 | Concession ticket |
| Family | $135.05 | Two adults and two children, or one adult and four children |
| Child aged three and under | Free | A ticket was still required |
The listing showed early-bird allocations as sold out and noted that add-ons had to be purchased in a separate transaction. For rides, Kids Luna Park listed 2026 tokens at $8 for one, $47 for six, $75 for ten, $140 for twenty and $260 for forty. Those were one operator’s ride-token prices, not admission to the show; its FAQ said rides operated from 10am to 9pm during the event and could have age or height restrictions.

How could visitors get there by public transport?
For the 2026 event, Transwa promoted a $7 FamilyRider ticket for up to seven people—two standard passengers and five concession passengers—on its services for a return trip to the show. Transwa also said free Transperth travel was available on the day of the Transwa journey, and that Fremantle Line trains with additional capacity would stop at Showgrounds Station.
These were 2026 arrangements. Check current information with Transwa and the relevant public-transport operator before a future visit; do not assume the fare, eligibility or train arrangements will recur.
Can the official app help plan a visit?
The official show page recommended its app for an interactive map to locate food, rides and exhibits, saving favourites to build an itinerary, and live show-time, weather and alert updates. A portable phone power bank is an optional convenience if you expect to rely on those phone features through a full day; no particular brand or capacity is required.
What public support was announced for the 2026 event?
A Western Australian Government statement dated 12 August 2026 said a $3.95 million investment supported discounted tickets, affordable food and popular attractions at the show. It described 70,000 discounted presale tickets, with discounts of up to 50 per cent, and said a family of four could attend for less than $80 under that presale offer. These figures referred to the announced 2026 arrangement, not general or future admission prices.
The statement also announced an additional $950,000 Lotterywest contribution to help improve access, celebrate agricultural heritage and connect regional and metropolitan communities. Agriculture and Food Minister Jackie Jarvis described the new Harvest Collective as a way to put local produce front and centre and help visitors discover food grown and produced in Western Australia.
