Perth dancer Faith Ward had her application accepted for a solo audition with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders (DCC), according to a report published on 4 June 2025. The invitation moved her forward in the audition process; it did not mean she had been selected for the team. The in-person audition was scheduled for 14 June 2025 in Texas, and the available sources do not confirm what happened afterward.
What happened to Faith Ward?
PerthNow reporter Kellie Balaam reported that Ward, a 22-year-old dancer known as “Flexi Faith,” received an email from DCC director Kelli Finglass telling her she had earned a solo audition at DCC headquarters. The report, published on 4 June 2025, said the audition was set for 14 June in Texas.
The distinction matters: an accepted application and invitation to audition are milestones, not a place on the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. PerthNow anticipated that team members would be announced in July, but the sources available here do not establish Ward’s audition result or whether she later joined the team.
What did the 2025 report say about her path?
Balaam’s account described Ward as having danced since childhood, beginning professional dance work at 18 and taking dance jobs on cruise ships. It also said she was originally from New Zealand and moved to Australia at age 10. These are details reported by PerthNow in June 2025, rather than independently verified biographical records.

The article said Ward submitted dance photos and videos, including a clip of herself learning specified choreography. It also reported that a DCC staff member contacted her and encouraged her to apply. Those details describe Ward’s reported experience and should not be read as a definitive checklist for every audition cycle.
“No matter the outcome, it’ll be amazing to be part of the experience, and making it this far is already just incredible,” Ward said, according to PerthNow.

How does the DCC audition process work now?
The current official DCC auditions page, checked on 8 October 2026, describes a four-stage process. It is useful context for prospective candidates, but it is not a substitute for the specific 2025 process Ward faced.
- Online first round: The process begins with an online audition round.
- Second round: Candidates may audition online or in person.
- Finals: Finals are held in person in Frisco, Texas. Candidates must complete finals in person to be considered.
- Training camp: Candidates are invited based on the outcome of their final audition.
The official page says the 2026 application window is closed. That status applies to the current cycle and does not establish Ward’s result from 2025.

What does the DCC say it evaluates?
For the 2026 cycle, the official auditions page lists dance technique, high-kick technique, splits, showmanship, appearance, energy, enthusiasm, poise and personality among its evaluation criteria. It says candidates must be able to do the splits to make the team. The same page says applicants must be 18 by 13 March 2026 for that cycle and that there are no height or weight requirements.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What are the role’s schedule and attire expectations?
The DCC describes the opportunity as part-time, hourly employment. Its audition overview says selected candidates rehearse from late July through the Cowboys football season, generally three to four times a week for two to three hours, and perform at approximately 10 home games. A separate official rules page describes two to five mandatory rehearsals per week before the season begins. These figures refer to different phases as described on the respective pages, not a single uniform weekly schedule.

For audition attire, the official page lists cheer shoes, lightweight dance sneakers or slip-on jazz shoes, along with a dance or athletic bra top and dance shorts. It also specifies skin-toned non-shimmer dance tights or sheer hosiery and names Diva Hosiery as its preferred hosiery vendor. Those are current official attire guidelines, not evidence of what Ward wore.
