What the Black Friday offer actually was
The phrase “$20 for a year” rounded the reported annual price of $19.99 for 12 months. The same November 26, 2024 report listed a separate option: $1.99 per month for six months. At the time, the annual option worked out to about $1.67 per month ($19.99 divided by 12), before any applicable taxes. Those were introductory promotional prices, not evidence of a permanent rate.

Android Headlines listed REALDEAL for the annual offer and REALDEALMONTHLY for the six-month offer. Its article described a general Peacock subscription deal, but did not establish a definitive plan tier or full eligibility terms. Is the $20 deal available now?
The original offer was associated with Black Friday 2024. Peacock’s official plans page does not verify that the old codes remain active, so the historical $19.99 price should not be presented as available now. A deal headline or a code copied from an old article is not confirmation. The relevant evidence is the offer and total shown by Peacock at checkout.

The official plans page surfaced standard U.S. prices of $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year for Select, $10.99 per month or $109.99 per year for Premium, and $16.99 per month or $169.99 per year for Premium Plus. These are the prices displayed in the available plan information, not a guarantee of what every customer will see at a later checkout; confirm the current amount, taxes, and renewal terms directly with Peacock. How to check whether a promotion has returned
- Open Peacock’s official plans page and continue through its signup flow.
- Select annual billing if you are checking the historical year-long offer; a monthly selection may show a different price or promotion.

What Peacock’s current plan tiers include
The tier matters as much as the price. Peacock’s plan descriptions distinguish these subscriptions:

Who might get value from Peacock?
Peacock may suit viewers who regularly watch NBCUniversal programming, NBC and Bravo TV, films, reality shows, or Peacock Originals. Its appeal can also include live sports and events. The 2024 deal report highlighted Sunday Night Football, Premier League soccer, and WWE; availability depends on the current schedule, rights, and plan. Check the program or event you care about rather than assuming every sport or title is included. Catalogs and streaming rights change over time.
- The historical $19.99 annual rate was compelling if you wanted Peacock content across much of the year and the checkout confirmed the full 12 months at that price.
- A monthly subscription may fit better if you only want to watch one title or event for a short time and do not need a year of access.
- Premium Plus may suit ad-averse viewers, but Peacock does not promise that every program is ad-free.
- Skip or reconsider the purchase if the required plan omits the content you want or you cannot confirm the promotional total.
Existing subscribers and third-party billing
The 2024 Android Headlines article said existing subscribers could participate by canceling and signing up with a different email address. Treat that as the article’s report about that promotion, not a universal Peacock eligibility rule or a guarantee for a future offer. Eligibility can depend on whether the subscription is active, whether it is billed by Peacock or through Apple, Google, Roku, Amazon, or another provider, whether the promotion is for new or returning subscribers, and whether the account has used a similar offer.

If you subscribe through another platform, check its cancellation and billing status as well as Peacock’s offer terms before trying to switch. Creating a second account is not a guaranteed workaround and can split profiles, viewing history, and payment records. Confirm that the existing subscription has ended or that Peacock explicitly says the promotion can be applied to it.

A promotional rate is an introductory price, not a promise that the same amount will apply at renewal. Peacock’s official page lists standard annual prices for its current tiers, but it does not establish the renewal terms for the 2024 promotion. Read the specific checkout disclosure for the renewal date and amount; the future price may be the then-current rate for the plan. If you do not want that charge, cancel before renewal using the account or billing provider that manages the subscription. Check the cancellation flow for when access ends rather than assuming it will continue for the entire paid period.

- Record the renewal date and the price shown for renewal.
- Set a reminder before that date if you may not want to continue.
- If billed by an app store or another provider, use that provider’s account controls and verify the subscription status there.
Verdict: a real historical deal, not a current-price promise
The $19.99 Peacock year was a real offer reported during Black Friday 2024. It was an excellent price for a viewer who wanted a full year of the included plan, but the report does not prove that the offer is available now or establish its exact tier and eligibility for every account. Buy only if Peacock’s official checkout shows a price and renewal arrangement that make sense for your viewing habits.
