Spoilers for Peacemaker Season 2, Episode 5, “Back to the Suture.” The episode names Eagly the “Prime Eagle,” then shows other eagles joining him in a violent confrontation with Red St. Wild. That combination gives the idea real weight within the show: Eagly may have an unusual influence over other eagles. The episode does not, however, explain the full nature or limits of that power.
What Episode 5 reveals about Eagly
“Back to the Suture” makes “Prime Eagle” more than a fan label. TV Insider’s account of the episode says Eagly is revealed as the Prime Eagle, while the confrontation itself gives the title a striking visual context: other eagles appear and attack Red St. Wild after he shoots one of them. TV Insider’s interview with Michael Rooker frames St. Wild as the man A.R.G.U.S. hired to deal with Chris Smith’s eagle.

The most convincing reading is that Eagly has some kind of special standing or influence among eagles. That is a strong interpretation of what the episode shows, but it is not the same as having a complete explanation of his abilities.
What the confrontation shows—and what it suggests
What is explicit
- The episode identifies Eagly as the “Prime Eagle,” as reported by TV Insider.
- In the scene recap by TV Obsessive, St. Wild shoots an eagle, Eagly appears with other eagles, Eagly’s eyes glow purple, and the birds attack St. Wild.
What the scene invites viewers to infer
The other eagles’ arrival links the Prime Eagle title to something beyond Eagly’s bond with Chris. Their coordinated attack makes it plausible that Eagly can summon, direct, or otherwise affect them. But the episode’s events, as described in the recaps, do not establish exactly how that connection works, whether Eagly consciously controls the birds, or whether the same thing can happen in other circumstances.

What remains unconfirmed
The episode’s reveal does not by itself establish a detailed mythology, a set of rules for Eagly’s power, or a creator-confirmed explanation. The on-screen detail and the interpretation should stay distinct: “Prime Eagle” is the name attached to Eagly; control over other eagles is a plausible reading of their behavior, not a fully explained mechanism.
Why the reveal gives the theory new force
Before this confrontation, Eagly’s importance could be understood mainly through his relationship with Peacemaker. Episode 5 places him in a larger role by pairing the Prime Eagle designation with a gathering of other eagles. That is the strongest reason the theory feels consequential: the story appears to connect Eagly to a wider, possibly supernatural dimension of the show’s world.

But Why Tho? similarly reads the reveal as Eagly being a Prime Eagle able to control other eagles. That interpretation fits the scene, but it should not be mistaken for an independently confirmed explanation. The recap’s reference to Indigenous myth is not substantiated here by an Indigenous source or cultural authority, so it is better not to treat that phrase as a fact about real-world traditions. But Why Tho?’s recap is a reading of the fictional episode, not evidence about bald eagles or Indigenous beliefs.
What happens to Eagly after the fight
The Prime Eagle confrontation is not the episode’s only major development for the pair. TV Obsessive’s recap says Peacemaker enters the dimensional portal with Eagly afterward. That move shifts the story into the alternate-dimension plot; it is a separate development from the evidence that Eagly may influence other eagles.
