What happened to One Tree Hill actor Paul Teal?
Paul Teal died on November 15, 2024, at age 35, after a battle with cancer. CBS News published its confirmation on November 18, 2024, citing Susan Tolar Walters of STW Talent Agency, and the date and age are also recorded in Teal’s obituary. CBS News’ death report described Teal as an actor known for his One Tree Hill role.
The obituary described his illness as a “courageous and long-fought battle with cancer.” Local reporting supplied the more specific description of stage 4 neuroendocrine pancreatic cancer; because that diagnosis was reported through local sources and people close to Teal, it should be attributed rather than presented as an unattributed medical claim. Port City Daily’s memorial coverage reported the specific illness description.
Susan Tolar Walters of STW Talent Agency said, “His remarkable talent, along with his gentle spirit, has left an indelible mark on all of us fortunate enough to have known him.” Emilia Torello, Teal’s partner, wrote, “The most thoughtful, inspiring, driven, self-disciplined, loving man passed away.” Torello also wrote, “Paul, you were my soulmate, my soon-to-be-husband, my rock, and my future.”
Wilmington’s Opera House Theater Company remembered Teal by saying, “The lights are a little dimmer this week as one of our brightest stars is gone.” TheWrap reproduced Torello’s tribute, while WECT reported the theatre company’s statement. A celebration-of-life service was reported in Wilmington on November 22, 2024.
