Who was Patrícia Perissinoto?
Patrícia was Andreas Kisser’s wife. Folha described her as a producer and businesswoman. The available contemporary reports establish those details but do not provide a fuller, well-sourced account of her professional life.
Her family announced her death and asked for privacy. A later report reproduced the family’s wording: “It is with deep sadness that we have to share that Patricia Perissinoto Kisser passed away this morning. She will remain in our memories forever. We want to thank all our friends and family for all the support and messages of love. We ask for privacy during this difficult time.” Blabbermouth’s 2023 report also covered Andreas’s later reflections on death and palliative care.

PatFest
PatFest took place in São Paulo on September 28, 2022, as a celebration of Patrícia’s life and legacy. Luciana Dadalto’s September 2022 Folha Morte Sem Tabu article reported that more than 2,000 people attended and that funds were raised for Comunidade Compassiva.
Mãetricia
Mãetricia was described as a movement bringing art and science together to encourage conversation about palliative care, living wills, autonomy at the end of life, and dignified death. Its purpose was to make subjects often avoided in public discussion easier to address. The cited coverage describes the movement’s aims at the time; it does not establish its current activities.

What is known about the circumstances of her death?
Contemporary reporting identified colon cancer as the cause. The cited reports do not establish when Patrícia was diagnosed, what treatment she received, or the precise medical circumstances surrounding her death. Those details should not be inferred from the reported cause alone.
In a later interview report, Andreas discussed why people should be able to talk more openly about dying and the role of palliative care. Blabbermouth’s November 2024 report also covered his account of how his wife’s death contributed to Sepultura’s decision to embark on a farewell tour.
