What was the announced Park Waves Festival lineup?
Rolling Stone Australia reported the first-wave lineup on 15 July 2025:
- Parkway Drive
- The Amity Affliction
- Northlane
- Alpha Wolf
- Story of the Year
The announcement said more acts were still to come. Parkway Drive frontman Winston McCall described the idea as “The vision for this is the biggest undertaking in Parkway’s history. A travelling festival run by the band, for the fans.” He also said, “It’s a massive deal for us, so we wanted to make it special.” Both quotes were reported by Rolling Stone Australia.
Why was Park Waves Festival cancelled?
Organizers cancelled the entire Australian run in December 2025, before the scheduled dates. In a statement quoted by ABC News on 2 December, they said: “The cancellation is due to a combination of challenges, and ultimately, the numbers no longer stack up.” ABC reported economic factors as the reason. The planned events were 16+.

Destroy All Lines published an 11-date itinerary on 8 July 2025. These are historical planned dates and venues; none went ahead as part of Park Waves.

The original itinerary marked the Byron Bay date as subject to final council approval. Destroy All Lines’ announcement listed the planned dates and venues; ABC News later reported that the entire run was cancelled.
What was the festival supposed to be?
Park Waves was promoted as a heavy-music travelling festival with a circus-style big top, circus performers, carnival rides, sideshow attractions and food offerings. The concept and 16+ threshold were announced plans, not experiences that took place. Music Festivals Australia described the planned format and event details.
