The clearest account of the show’s pandemic-era fifth season is from 2021; reporting on her relationship with Perry Rahbar followed that year, while her later breakup with Craig Conover was announced at the end of 2024. DeSorbo’s book with Hannah Berner, How to Giggle, came out in 2025.
What DeSorbo said about Summer House Season 5
In a February 4, 2021 interview with Entertainment Tonight, DeSorbo and Hannah Berner discussed filming Season 5 during the pandemic. The cast lived together in a Hamptons rental for six weeks. DeSorbo described the season’s fights as unusually explosive, while also expressing gratitude that the cast stayed healthy and remained friends.
The interview’s focus was the unusual shared filming experience and the cast’s relationships. It is not evidence that DeSorbo was discussing every later breakup associated with her name.
Two breakups, two different timelines
| Relationship | What the reporting establishes |
|---|---|
| Perry Rahbar | In an April 30, 2021 report, Bravo said DeSorbo had grown increasingly dissatisfied with the relationship during Season 5 and discussed the split after the season. |
| Craig Conover | An ELLE profile published February 12, 2025 placed the breakup announcement at the end of December 2024. DeSorbo declined to comment on the breakup for that interview. |
These are separate relationships and separate accounts. The 2021 reporting about Rahbar should not be treated as an explanation for the Conover breakup. Likewise, the 2025 ELLE profile establishes that DeSorbo declined to discuss that later breakup in that interview; it does not provide her account of its causes.

How DeSorbo and Berner wrote How to Giggle
DeSorbo and Berner co-wrote How to Giggle: A Guide to Taking Life Less Seriously. In an April 15, 2025 interview with Fast Company, they described writing equally and keeping the book in their own voices, drawing on personal stories and a magazine-like mix of quizzes, graphs and charts.
DeSorbo said the project was meant to sound like the two collaborators, rather than a ghostwriter: “When Simon & Schuster came to us to write a book, any Bravo person I talked to said you get a ghostwriter. But both Simon & Schuster and Hannah said it needed to be in our voices, because it’s comedy.”

She also described the balance of public praise and criticism that comes with reality television: “You can’t believe your hype, but you also can’t believe the meanest thing anyone’s ever said about you.” Both remarks come from the Fast Company interview, not the 2021 Summer House conversation.

In October 2025, ELLE reported that How to Giggle had been released and had landed on the New York Times bestseller list. The book gives the writing discussion a concrete outcome: a jointly authored comedy guide built around the co-authors’ voices and personal material.
