When were the Cowboy Bebop skins revealed and released?
Windows Central reported the full designs on March 11, 2024, after Blizzard showed them in a gameplay trailer. The event itself went live on March 12, according to Blizzard’s event announcement and Xbox Wire. Blizzard said the event ran through March 25, 2024.

Was the Ein skin free?
At launch, players could earn Wrecking Ball’s Ein Legendary skin by completing 12 event challenges. The four other Legendary crossover skins—Spike Cassidy, Faye Ashe, Jet Mauga, and Ed Sombra—were sold in the in-game shop. Blizzard also said the shop bundles included the skin and additional cosmetics such as name cards, victory poses, and emotes; a Mega Bundle included all four shop skins. Its launch article did not state prices.
Blizzard’s event announcement also listed 35,000 Battle Pass XP among the event rewards. That figure is a reward detail for the 2024 event, not a recurring allowance.

What details went into the crossover designs?
In an Xbox Wire interview, Overwatch concept artist Danna Lee said she used Spike’s coat from the anime’s final episode as a reference and designed his gadgets to evoke the series’ retro era. The key hanging at his waist was designed as the key to the Swordfish 2. Lee said, “I aimed to replicate Spike’s outfit as faithfully as possible.”
Artist Allison Yu described adapting Ashe’s B.O.B. to evoke Faye’s Red Tail ship. The design made B.O.B. rounder and more organic, and removed the clothes to bring the ship-like silhouette forward.

The cited announcements establish the event’s 2024 dates and launch unlocks, but do not establish whether the skins returned to the shop later or are available now. Check the current Overwatch 2 shop for present availability.
