The 10 Best Picture nominees for the 98th Academy Awards have a mix of reported subscription, rental and purchase options. For a U.S.-oriented starting point, Frankenstein and Train Dreams are listed on Netflix, while TV Guide lists F1 for Apple TV and Prime Video rental or purchase, and One Battle after Another and Sinners for HBO Max. These listings are leads, not guarantees of current availability: check the service in your country before watching. One Battle after Another won Best Picture.
2026 Best Picture nominees and reported streaming options
The Academy’s official list names 10 Best Picture nominees for the 98th Oscars. The table below summarizes the viewing routes reported by TV Guide and Amazon; it is not a live audit of service catalogs. “Streaming” can mean a title included with a subscription, a paid rental, or a digital purchase, and those options may differ by country.
| Nominee | Reported viewing option | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Bugonia | Streaming guides list availability, but the cited guides do not establish a current official title page. TV Guide; Cloudspress | Confirm the service, format and local availability on the platform. |
| F1 | TV Guide lists Apple TV and Prime Video rental or purchase. TV Guide | Check whether an Apple TV subscription or a separate digital transaction applies. |
| Frankenstein | TV Guide lists Netflix. TV Guide | Check the Netflix catalog in your country. |
| Hamnet | Amazon says it is among the nominees available to stream, rent or buy on Prime Video; another roundup lists a subscription service. Amazon; Cloudspress | Open the individual listing to distinguish subscription access from rental or purchase. |
| Marty Supreme | Amazon says it is among the nominees available to stream, rent or buy on Prime Video. Amazon | Check which access format is currently offered in your territory. |
| One Battle after Another (Best Picture winner) | TV Guide lists HBO Max; Amazon says selected nominees are available through Prime Video. TV Guide; Amazon | Confirm whether the option is subscription, rental or purchase. |
| The Secret Agent | TV Guide lists Hulu subscription and Prime Video rental or purchase, and notes Netflix availability in Brazil. TV Guide | Do not treat the Brazil Netflix listing as U.S. availability; check your country’s services. |
| Sentimental Value | Amazon’s nominee guide describes Prime Video streaming, rental and purchase options for selected films, but does not establish a specific option for this title. Amazon | Check the individual Prime Video entry before relying on it. |
| Sinners | TV Guide lists HBO Max; Amazon also covers Prime Video options for selected nominees. TV Guide; Amazon | Verify whether a current subscription, rental or purchase listing is available locally. |
| Train Dreams | TV Guide lists Netflix. TV Guide | Check the local Netflix catalog. |
How to check whether a title is included or costs extra
Before choosing a film, open its listing in the service you plan to use and look at the access label. A title described as available on a service may still require a separate rental or purchase rather than being included in a subscription. Amazon explicitly distinguishes streaming, renting and buying; its guide does not establish that every nominee is included with a Prime subscription.
- Subscription: The title is included with the relevant service or channel plan, subject to its local catalog.
- Rental: A one-time payment grants temporary access under the platform’s terms.
- Purchase: A one-time digital transaction provides access under that platform’s terms.
- Add-on: Confirm whether a listed channel or service requires an additional subscription.
The cited guides do not provide a reliable, comparable set of current prices, so check the offer shown by the service rather than assuming one route is cheaper.

Why your country matters
Streaming rights and catalogs vary by territory. TV Guide’s entry for The Secret Agent, for example, distinguishes Netflix availability in Brazil from the U.S. services it lists. A title appearing in a guide does not mean it is available in every country, or that it is available in the same format everywhere.
The options above are a U.S.-oriented snapshot drawn from guides available on October 8, 2026. They were not verified against every platform’s live title page on that date. Check your country’s official service listing before subscribing or paying to rent or buy.
