Paramount describes Transformers One as the origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron. Before taking those names, the characters are Orion Pax and D-16. The studio synopsis says the two were close friends, “bonded like brothers,” before becoming sworn enemies. Paramount’s official film page is the basis for that broad framing.
That makes the film’s central origin question relational: how do two companions become opponents? The official synopsis establishes the destination of that relationship but does not give a scene-by-scene account of the break. It does not establish the exact turning points, dialogue, motivations or chronology, so those details should not be treated as confirmed on the strength of the synopsis alone.
How do Orion Pax and D-16 relate to Optimus Prime and Megatron?

This is Transformers One’s version of the characters’ origin, not a definitive account for every Transformers continuity. The franchise has multiple interpretations, and the official synopsis supports this film’s premise without establishing how its story compares with other versions.

Hasbro’s Prime Changer Optimus Prime/Orion Pax figure is a separate source of product details, not a definitive guide to the film’s fictional abilities. Hasbro describes a 5-inch toy that converts between robot and Cybertronian truck modes in 20 steps and includes a Matrix of Leadership accessory and battle axe. Those specifications describe the figure; they do not prove that every toy feature corresponds one-to-one with a scene or power in the movie.
