Spoilers for the Season 4 finale. Marshall P. Pope killed Sazz Pataki, and the finale closes that case before Oliver and Loretta marry. But as Charles and Mabel celebrate finishing their podcast, the Arconia doorman Lester is found dead in the courtyard fountain, opening a new mystery the episode does not solve.
Who killed Sazz Pataki, and why?
The killer is Marshall P. Pope, who is also known as Rex Bailey. His connection to Sazz goes back to his time as her stuntman protégé. His motive is tied to the screenplay inspired by the trio’s podcast: Marshall stole the script, and the theft lies behind his crimes. The official Disney+ listing identifies this finale as Season 4, Episode 10, “My Best Friend’s Wedding,” and teases that the season’s answers come before the trio faces mortal danger: Disney+ episode listing.
Marshall’s stunt background also explains how he disposed of Sazz’s body. He used the ledge between the buildings, a dangerous route that becomes important again when Charles realizes it could provide a way to reach Mabel.
How do Charles and Oliver rescue Mabel?
Marshall threatens Mabel and warns Charles and Oliver to stay away. Charles recognizes that the ledge Marshall used to move Sazz’s body could let them get to her, too. The rescue is perilous: Marshall’s stunt training makes him especially dangerous during the confrontation. The finale’s detailed account of the reveal and rescue is recapped by What to Watch.

What happens to Oliver and Loretta?
Oliver and Loretta marry at the Arconia. The next day, Oliver says goodbye as Loretta leaves for New Zealand. Their relationship now faces distance, but the finale presents the wedding as a happy resolution rather than another tragedy. TheWrap’s finale coverage also notes that Charles and Mabel finish their podcast and initially believe the wedding celebration has escaped the show’s familiar pattern of ending in murder.

Who killed Lester?
The finale does not say. Blood appears in the courtyard fountain, where Charles, Oliver and Mabel find Lester, the Arconia’s doorman, dead. His death is a new, unresolved murder—not part of the answer to who killed Sazz. The episode ends without explaining how Lester reached the fountain or identifying his killer.

That possibility is raised, not confirmed. Sofia Caccimelio tells the trio that her missing husband’s disappearance has something to do with the Arconia, but they decline to take up her request. The finale does not establish a connection between her husband and Lester’s death. TheWrap likewise identifies the possible link as an unanswered question, not a solved plot point.
