To schedule a prerecorded gaming replay as a YouTube live broadcast with OneStream Live, connect your YouTube channel, add the finished video, choose YouTube as the destination, enter the event details, and schedule it. The broadcast is separate from its later availability as a YouTube replay: streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured, and neither an archive nor monetization is guaranteed.
How do I stream a prerecorded video on YouTube?
OneStream Live’s documented workflow lets you authorize a YouTube channel and schedule an uploaded recording as a live broadcast. You do not need a capture card to upload a finished replay. A capture method is relevant only if you still need to record console gameplay to create that file.
- Connect YouTube: In OneStream Live, open Social Platforms, add or select YouTube, choose the account and channel, select a category, and authorize the connection.
- Add the recording: Choose the prerecorded-stream workflow and select the replay from your device, OneStream storage, or a supported cloud storage source.
- Choose the destination and enter details: Select the connected YouTube channel and provide the stream title and description. OneStream’s guide also describes adding tags and a thumbnail.
- Set the time and schedule: Choose the broadcast time, then schedule the event.
- Verify the event: Find it under Streams and revisit its details before airtime. OneStream documents editing scheduled streams from this page.
OneStream’s guide says a prerecorded stream can be scheduled up to 60 days ahead. That is an advance-booking window, not a statement that the broadcast itself can run for 60 days. The guide was updated August 18, 2026; check the current account interface because features and limits can change.
Can I schedule a gaming replay to go live on YouTube?
Yes. A gaming replay is a prerecorded video in this workflow: viewers see it as a scheduled live broadcast, even though the footage was recorded earlier. The source should be a video you have the rights to use, and the event’s live status does not guarantee a permanent or complete VOD afterward.

One-off replay or a continuous channel?
For a single event, schedule the replay using the steps above. For a continuously looping channel, OneStream’s separate 24/7 guide describes a YouTube-only option that requires Enterprise and allows a maximum configured duration of 30 days. Its overview describes looping prerecorded videos for a continuous channel. Confirm availability and entitlement in your account; the 30-day run ceiling is distinct from the 60-day scheduling lead time.
Free-plan limits
OneStream Live’s Free Plan limitations article, checked in 2026, lists these limits. They are the provider’s stated plan details, not independent test results; confirm the current limits before relying on them.

Advanced scheduling options
OneStream lists YouTube-only DVR and monetization toggles among advanced scheduling options and says advanced scheduling is available on Standard and higher. These are interface options, not promises of archive capture, ad eligibility, or revenue. YouTube controls archive behavior and monetization eligibility.
Will YouTube save my livestream as a replay?
Not reliably for very long events. YouTube Help says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived and warns: “If your stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all.” A 24/7 broadcast should therefore not be treated as one dependable, complete replay VOD.

- For a replay you need to preserve, consider dividing a long broadcast into shorter events rather than relying on one stream exceeding 12 hours.
- Keep the original recording locally or in storage you control where feasible. A YouTube archive is not a substitute for retaining the source.
- OneStream’s DVR scheduling option does not override YouTube’s archive limits.
Can I monetize gameplay replays?
Possibly, but scheduling a replay through OneStream does not make it eligible. YouTube says game-content monetization may depend on commercial-use rights granted by the game publisher. It also warns that “Videos simply showing a user playing a video game or the use of software for extended periods of time may not be accepted for monetization.” Commentary or other meaningful original contribution may matter, but it does not replace required permissions or channel eligibility.
Check before scheduling
- Game publisher permissions: Check whether the publisher allows commercial use of gameplay footage and whether any conditions apply.
- Music and third-party material: Confirm rights for in-game music and any other third-party audio, video, or assets included in the recording.
- Original contribution: Consider whether the replay offers commentary or other meaningful value rather than simply showing extended gameplay.
- Channel and ad eligibility: YouTube’s channel monetization policies, eligibility requirements, and ad-serving decisions still apply. Ads may not be served even when a creator has enabled monetization.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content and may interrupt a stream. An archived live stream can also receive a Content ID claim after the event, so a successful broadcast is not proof that the recording is clear for monetization.

Troubleshooting a scheduled replay
- You cannot schedule the full recording: Check the plan’s duration limit. OneStream lists a 15-minute maximum for prerecorded live streams on its Free Plan; a longer replay may require a different plan or a shorter edit.
- The playlist option is missing: OneStream lists playlist streaming as unavailable on the Free Plan. Confirm the current plan entitlement in your account.
- The stream is not appearing on the intended channel: Reopen Social Platforms, confirm the connected YouTube account and channel, and verify the destination in the scheduled event details.
- You expected a 24/7 loop or a 60-day broadcast: These figures describe different things. OneStream’s 24/7 guide specifies YouTube-only availability, Enterprise, and a maximum configured run of 30 days; its scheduling overview describes booking up to 60 days ahead.
- The replay VOD is missing or incomplete: Check the event’s duration against YouTube’s under-12-hour archive guidance. For future events, split long broadcasts and retain the source file.
- The stream is interrupted or claimed: Review YouTube’s copyright notices and any Content ID claims, including claims that arrive after the broadcast. Check rights to gameplay, music, and other third-party material before rescheduling.
- Ads do not appear: A monetization toggle is not a guarantee of eligibility or ad serving. Check channel eligibility and YouTube’s policy notices, as well as the rights status of the recording.

Cost and workflow choice
For a single scheduled replay, OneStream’s prerecorded-stream workflow is designed around choosing an upload, adding event details, and setting a broadcast time. Check the plan limits and YouTube archive guidance against the replay length and your need for a saved VOD.
