Is the One Tree Hill sequel still happening?
Production List, an industry directory, lists the sequel series as in post-production in an entry last updated October 3, 2026. The listing says principal photography is finished and notes that shooting had been scheduled to begin in Los Angeles in November 2025. It also names Netflix, Warner Bros. Studio and Chaos Machine Productions among the companies attached. This is a dated directory listing, not a public release-date announcement. Production List’s project entry
Earlier coverage described scripts requiring Netflix approval before a greenlight. The sources do not establish when or where the series will be released. TV Insider’s March 17, 2026 report · TV Insider’s July 20, 2025 report

Danneel Ackles is listed as a producer. TV Insider’s July 2025 coverage said she was considering an onscreen return as Rachel Scott; that is not confirmation that she will appear. The reviewed sources do not confirm appearances by Chad Michael Murray, James Lafferty, Bethany Joy Lenz or other original cast members. TV Insider reported in July 2025 that Murray was not expected to return at that time, while quoting him as open to considering it if the show came to fruition. That was a dated report, not a definitive current casting decision. Production List’s project entry TV Insider’s July 20, 2025 report
