When does One Piece season 3 come out?
Netflix has confirmed a 2027 release for season 3. As of October 8, 2026, it has not announced a specific day or month, making 2027 the most precise confirmed timing. The season’s official title is ONE PIECE: The Battle of Alabasta. Netflix’s season announcement and its later Tudum update do not establish a month-specific estimate.
Netflix says filming began in Cape Town, South Africa, in November 2025, and its latest update reports that production has wrapped. A wrap announcement does not confirm when the finished season will premiere. Netflix has not announced an episode count or trailer date in the cited updates, so neither can be stated as confirmed.
What is season 3 about?
After agreeing to help Princess Vivi at the end of season 2, Luffy and the Straw Hats head for Alabasta, Vivi’s desert homeland. Netflix’s official description says a rebellion threatens to divide the country and is secretly being fueled by Sir Crocodile, a member of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, and his criminal network, Baroque Works. The crew must face the threat of civil war and a powerful warlord as they try to save Vivi’s kingdom.

In its April 7, 2026 franchise announcement, Netflix quoted co-showrunners, writers, and executive producers Joe Tracz and Ian Stokes describing the season as a war story that would be “epic and emotional, spectacular and surprising.” Netflix also cited nearly 100 million views for the franchise in that announcement. That is Netflix’s own reported franchise figure, not an independently audited count or a prediction of season 3 viewership.
