Spoilers for the Water Seven and Enies Lobby arcs. Rokushiki is a set of six superhuman combat skills in One Piece. The manga demonstrates that they solve different problems: movement, offense, defense, and evasion. There is no official ranking of the six, so the order below is an editorial judgment based on all-around combat utility across different opponents and settings—not a canon power scale. Rokuogan is covered separately because reference sources describe it as a rare seventh technique, rather than one of the six basic forms.
What are the six Rokushiki techniques?
The six forms divide usefully into movement, offense, and defense or evasion. That grouping is a practical way to compare them; each technique has its own demonstrated function.

Rokushiki abilities ranked by all-around utility
This ranking weighs versatility, range, defensive value, and mobility. The techniques are not interchangeable, and a fighter’s skill or circumstances can change which one matters most.
1. Soru (Shave)
Soru is a rapid burst of ground movement. It can help a user close distance, evade an incoming attack, or reposition in a direct fight. Unlike teleportation, it is a movement technique, and its value comes from changing position quickly.

2. Geppo (Moonwalk)
Geppo gives its user aerial mobility by kicking against the air. It opens up vertical movement and repositioning that Soru does not provide. That spatial advantage can be substantial when an opponent cannot follow the user into the air.
3. Rankyaku (Tempest Kick)
Rankyaku turns a kick into a cutting air blade, extending an attacker’s threat beyond contact range. The chapter 348 recap describes a demonstration in which the technique cuts a wall, illustrating its reach. Its distance advantage makes it more broadly useful than a purely close-range strike.

4. Tekkai (Iron Body)
Tekkai hardens the body to help the user withstand impacts. It is valuable when evasion is unavailable or a fighter needs to hold position, but it is less flexible than movement or ranged offense when the situation calls for repositioning. The demonstrated role is resistance to hits, not invulnerability.
5. Kami-e (Paper Art)
Kami-e makes the user’s body pliable so it can flutter out of an attack’s path. Unlike Tekkai, it avoids a hit rather than bracing against one. Its effectiveness depends on reading and evading the attack; it is not a literal transformation into paper.

6. Shigan (Finger Pistol)
Shigan uses a finger thrust as a piercing weapon. It is dangerous at close range, but requires a direct approach and has less reach than Rankyaku. Under an all-around utility test, those limits put it below the movement and ranged options.
Where does Rokuogan fit?
Rokuogan, also rendered Six King Gun or Six King Pistol, belongs outside the six-form ranking. Secondary reference accounts describe it as a rare “seventh” or capstone technique associated with mastery of the other six, and identify Rob Lucci as a known user. Those descriptions are reference-based rather than verified here against the official manga wording, so Rokuogan should not be treated as a routinely available seventh basic form or compared as though it were simply another technique in the same category.
Rank #4
- Join Monkey D. Luffy and his swashbuckling crew in their search for the ultimate treasure, One Piece
- As a child, Monkey D. Luffy was inspired to become a pirate by listening to the tales of the buccaneer "Red-Haired" Shanks
- But his life changed when Luffy accidentally ate the Gum-Gum Devil Fruit and gained the power to stretch like rubber
Why this is not an official power scale
The manga’s demonstrations establish what the techniques do, not a canonical order from strongest to weakest. Their utility depends on the combat problem: Soru changes ground position, Geppo changes vertical position, Rankyaku reaches beyond contact, and Shigan concentrates offense at close range. Tekkai absorbs pressure; Kami-e seeks to avoid it. No relevant named statistic establishes a numerical ranking for individual forms.
For the official English chapter listings, see VIZ’s One Piece chapter page. A non-official recap of the chapter 348 demonstrations is available from The Grand Line Archives; it is a fan reference, not a primary source.
