The Omega Speedmaster appears in films ranging from The Deadly Affair (1967) to Moonfall (2022), with Apollo 13 among its best-known screen appearances. The list below is a selection, not a definitive filmography: some identifications come from specialist watch spotters and catalogs, while Omega’s corporate archive documents specific watches supplied for First Man.
Why the Speedmaster turns up in space films
The Speedmaster’s real connection to human spaceflight helps explain its recurring role in films about astronauts. Swatch Group says NASA declared the watch “Flight Qualified for all Manned Space Missions” on March 1, 1965, and notes its role in Apollo 11. That history is distinct from any particular film appearance: it does not establish that Omega sponsored a movie or supplied every Speedmaster seen on screen.
Fratello notes that Omega does not sponsor many movies and that actors or prop departments may choose the watches. A screen sighting alone therefore does not prove an official partnership. The clearest production-specific evidence in the examples below is for First Man.
Omega Speedmaster film sightings
This selection combines production information from Swatch Group with identifications by Fratello and entries in the IMWDb catalog. The confidence column describes the kind of evidence available, not a universal rating of how clearly the watch can be seen in the film.

What the evidence can—and cannot—confirm
A precise reference is documented for First Man
Swatch Group’s October 17, 2018 production information names two references and distinguishes their use: ST 105.003 appears on Gosling’s Armstrong during training, while ST 105.012 is worn by actors portraying Apollo 11 astronauts in the mission and landing scenes. This makes First Man the strongest reference-level example in this selection. It does not mean every movie watch in the table has been documented to the same standard.

- Model 310.30.42.50.01.002
Other sightings are specialist identifications
Fratello’s film list and the IMWDb catalog are useful watch-spotting resources, but they are not studio or brand confirmations for every entry. Exact model details beyond those attributed above should be treated cautiously. Fratello presents its list as open to additions, so the examples here should not be read as an exhaustive screen history.
Catalog counts are snapshots, not a total filmography
IMWDb’s Omega Speedmaster Professional page reported 29 cataloged on-screen appearances when last modified on July 15, 2026. That is the database’s count of its own entries, not a verified total of all Speedmaster appearances in movies; it also should not be mistaken for a count of films alone.
