Olivia Wilde’s beach-vacation Instagram Stories featured a black bikini, according to a March 20, 2023 report by Fox News. The report does not establish that it was a string bikini or identify its designer. A separate birthday photo showed Wilde in a white string bikini, which is the source of the color-and-cut mix-up.
What the Instagram Story showed
Fox News reported that Wilde shared beach video and a photo in her Instagram Stories during a vacation, describing her swimwear as a “skimpy black bikini.” That wording is the publication’s description, not a quote from Wilde. The report does not name a brand, model, or specific cut, so the black suit cannot be identified more precisely from that account.
Instagram Stories are temporary posts, and the coverage dates to March 20, 2023. The reporting establishes what was described at the time, not whether the original Story remains viewable.
Why the white string bikini is often confused with it
A different image shared in connection with Wilde’s 39th birthday was a black-and-white photo in which she wore a white string bikini. People reproduced the caption attributed to Wilde: “39 and feeling fine. Thanks for the birthday love. I milked it for way too long and it’s been great. Here’s to whatever’s next. Probably not another tramp stamp but who knows. #shameless #howdareshe #thehorror.”

Grazia US and SheFinds also describe the birthday image as showing a white bikini. It is distinct from the black-bikini vacation Story; the white color and string-style description belong to the birthday photo, not the black suit.
Can you find the exact black bikini?
The cited coverage does not identify a maker or product for the black bikini, nor does it establish that the suit had string ties. A listing for a black string bikini may be a similar-style option, but it should not be presented as Wilde’s exact outfit. Any exact-product claim would require evidence beyond the reporting cited here.
