Preston Ordone, the two-year-old known online as “Okay Baby,” died after a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 12 in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, on April 24, 2025. His parents, Katelynn and Jaelan Ordone, were also in the truck and were seriously injured, according to a family friends’ statement reported by Us Weekly. Police described their account as preliminary; public accounts differ over how Preston was secured in his car seat, and the sources cited here do not establish a final investigative finding.
What happened to Preston Ordone?
In a preliminary account quoted by Us Weekly, Louisiana State Police said a 2011 Ford F-150 was traveling eastbound on I-12 when it left the roadway to the right and struck a tree. The agency said the reason remained under investigation when it issued the account on April 24, 2025. That description is preliminary, not a final determination of how the crash happened.
Preston’s parents were in the vehicle and were seriously injured, according to a statement from family friends reported by Us Weekly. Their daughter was not in the truck, the publication reported. Family friend Brielle said at the time, “We don’t know all the details yet,” reflecting the family’s early uncertainty.
Was “Okay Baby” properly restrained?
The public accounts conflict, and the available reporting does not resolve the question. The police release, as quoted by Us Weekly, said Preston was in the rear seat but improperly restrained in a child safety seat. His grandfather, Glen Norris, disputed that account.

In a later statement reported in May 2025, Katelynn Ordone said she and her husband had severe concussions and no memory of the crash. She said an independent reconstruction supported her belief that Preston was properly secured, while also saying there appeared to have been an issue with how the seat attached to its base. These are attributed accounts, not a settled investigative conclusion; they do not establish fault or a definitive explanation of the crash.
Separately, the police release stated: “The proper use of seat belts and child safety seats can be the difference between life and death.” That general safety reminder does not resolve what happened in this particular crash.

Who was “Okay Baby”?
Preston became known through videos on his mother’s TikTok account. Us Weekly reported that he became widely known as “Okay Baby” around August 2024: in the videos, he would cheerfully answer his parents with “okay” and then defy their directions. He was two years old when he died.
