In FBI Season 7, Episode 13, “Unearth,” OA and Scola investigate the shooting of two jurors in a high-profile mafia trial. The case takes a personal turn when a former instructor from Scola’s military academy may be connected—and the preview frames the episode as a story about friendship as much as an investigation.

What happens in “Unearth”?

The case begins with two jurors gunned down during a high-profile mafia trial. The FBI team initially pursues an organized-crime angle, but the preview says investigators discover the jurors may not have been the intended targets. That possibility shifts the investigation beyond the trial itself.

TV Insider’s February 18, 2025, preview describes the episode as a “mini ‘Most Wanted’ crossover” and identifies it as “Unearth,” Season 7, Episode 13. The report said CBS had scheduled it for February 25, 2025, at 8/7c; that is the original schedule, not confirmation of current broadcast or streaming availability. TV Insider’s preview and exclusive photos provide the episode-specific details.

Why is the investigation personal for Scola?

A former drill instructor from the military academy Scola attended may be tied to the case. John Boyd, who plays Stuart Scola, said the episode would reveal that Scola’s parents sent him to an upstate military school as punishment, and that “some really dark things” about the school would come to light. The preview does not establish the full nature of those revelations or the instructor’s role, so the connection is best understood as the mystery that draws Scola’s own past into the investigation.

How do OA, Scola and Nina fit into the episode?

The preview shows Zeeko Zaki’s OA working in the field with Scola, played by Boyd. Boyd described it as “an OA and Scola partnership episode” focused on friendship. The episode’s emotional angle, then, is not only what Scola uncovers about his school years but how his partnership with OA supports him as that history resurfaces.

Shantel VanSanten returns as Nina Chase, Scola’s girlfriend. TV Insider reports that Nina and Scola team up for an interrogation. The preview also identifies Frank Wood as Col. Nathaniel Lewis and Michael Delorenzo as Stephen Goldsby in the scene it describes; it does not provide enough information to assign either character a more specific role in the case.

What the sneak peek establishes—and what it leaves open

The first-look report sets up a layered case: the shooting of jurors, an organized-crime lead, the possibility that the jurors were not the intended victims, and a link to Scola’s academy past. It also signals a character-focused episode built around the friendship between OA and Scola, with Nina joining Scola for an interrogation.

Because the report is a preview rather than a full episode recap or transcript, it does not resolve who the intended targets were, what happened at Scola’s school, or whether the former instructor is responsible. It also does not verify where the episode can be watched now.
